HUGE game with Purdue vs Kansas. Who wins and what will be the score?

I picked ISU and am as happy as anyone to be wrong. Against KU, I'm going against all the "experts" and picking Purdue even thought Kansas looks like the better team on paper. I've been thrilled to see Biggie and Haas dominate down low, and KU does not have good bigs. We will also need to shoot lights out, but I think we come inspired and get the job done 88-84. CE ices the game at the FT line. Picking completely with my heart but hey, it's called March Madness for a reason.

Purdue 82 Kansas 81 with Purdue blowing an 11 point lead late but hanging on with Biggie making BIG free throws... :)

PU 97 KU 75 Miss the century mark because Painter subs out all the starters with a minute and half left, and KU makes the final score appear closer than it actually was.

Do you think that Painter will show a video clip or anything for motivation? I would have the guys watch some great sports film tonight, maybe Rudy, Facing the Giants or should I say it, Hoosiers.

Wow the more I think on this, Boogie, Cline and Mathias keep popping in my head on the huge 3 point daggers they make that will give us some leads or keep us in the game and let us win this game late.......

Cline may really shine this game and make 4 or 5 of them....

Still thinking Purdue 74 Kansas 71

I think the last time a Painter coached Purdue team won a game against a team like this in an environment like it will be tomorrow was OSU 2010. Since then they have not really beaten a team on this level that I can remember.

If Purdue wins someone unexpected will have to step up at a point in the game the KU will be making their run. Whether it be Carson Edward having the best game of his young Purdue career, Cline, or Dakota going off from 3 or a bit of all 3. Biggie and Vince will need it badly to gain the spacing to drive and post. Vince is going to be facing a much more athletic guy and so he will need to let the game come to him. Biggie can't put the pressure all on himself to do everything. He has to be able to rely on his counter parts to get things going as well. IMO the key will be if Carson can get penetration and make the proper pass to a cutting Vince or Biggie. An x factor would be Haas. He was terrible against Vermont but got it together against ISU. He still had moments where he missed bunnies and was blocked so he will have to be stronger. We are a bad match up for most teams in the tourney and this is no exception, however, we have to play a FULL game and need contributions from everyone to get the win...

Having said all of that I have KU winning this one going away. Final score will be something like 75 - 64. Yes low scoring total score but the scoring will pick up as the game moves forward. I have KU here because I've yet to see a team that doesn't have the big 3 playing under CMP win a game like this against a much more athletic and really overall better team. Hate to be a downer and would love nothing more than to be wrong. But I don't see this year or this match up being the one that gets CMP past the sweet 16... Prove me wrong Boilers...

Or, try and get their minds off sports for awhile. Maybe 8 episodes of Mork and Mindy?

Considering it will be a virtual home game for KS...........they have the edge in a close one 73-68. I hope I am so wrong on this..............

I can see it both ways. This is a HUGE game against the number 1 seed basically playing on their court. It is going to be a hostile environment. I think a great sports movie about an underdog role would encourage them.

I'd show them Unbreakable to show them what human will/spirit can overcome. Then I'd show them John Wick 2 to get the adrenaline pumping (and because I saw it recently and it totally kicks ass).

Purdue will play better D than Sparty did, and they gave Kansas a good game. Blessings will be upon Purdue if they shoot as well as they did against Iowa State. New building for Purdue, 2nd home for Kansas. Same Purdue movie we've all seen....turn overs, shooting, defense...and Vince Edwards has to be the equalizer...Biggie will do his thing, but Vince will keep them honest...

Purdue 78
Kansas 74

You called it. Great job. Read the quote below:
Big Boilermaker
Self was asked if he’d ever seen anybody as imposing as Purdue’s Isaac Haas, a 7-2, 290-pound junior from Hokes Bluff, Ala., who averages 12.6 points and 5.1 boards a game.
“Yeah. He was in, was it Rocky IV? Ivan Drago … I’m gonna break you,” Self joked. “This guy is a lot bigger.

Hey, CoBo, I don't think so! Cheer up!

I would LOVE to be wrong. I just don't think it is going to go well for our Boilers. I am not convinced that Coach Painter has a good game plan that will adequately address the Kansas threat. I see a lot of man-2-man defense in the game which will take our bigs out to the perimeter. That is never good for us. We will get blown by every time. We will need a zone defense, especially when Isaac is in the lineup. Don't think that is gonna happen, though. Hence my pessimistic outlook on the results.
