Purdue v. Indiana Game Thread

Our guards need to quit giving Haas the ball 10 feet from the bucket. He's ineffective out there. That's killing us. He needs to repost and get deeper position.
That charge on Biggie hurt but was the right call.
At least we're getting 'Good Vince'.

I agree.........but a bit of a continuation IMO. Oh well

not blaming the refs

I hear ya, Pit. I had a long day, so I'm probably a little subdued.....otherwise the remote and chips would be severely "bruised."

If I read one more friggin 20 point prediction going to vomit. 20 points? Really? On the road? Been watching basketball for awhile???????

fouls on key people isn't helping one bit.

Because we look lost. We're not getting bad calls. Haas looks real bad. First time I've ever seen Biggie look frustrated. Painter better make something happen in that lockerroom for sure or we're going to be lucky to get out of there with a win.

he bumped him....actually, IMO, the Boilers have gotten a few calls.....just not knocking down enough shots....and some key breakdowns have hurt.
Agree. I think the refs have been damn good.
I think Dakota will knock in a three about 4 mins in and we will get hot and go on a run. Then the IU foul trouble will open up the middle and we get out in front for good.

Without checking the halftime stats...wtf is the story?

Ineffective shooting, except from the Edwards' Boys....DM taken out a little with a couple of fouls....a couple of defensive breakdowns hurt.....Indiana is playing some decent defense.

I fear the calls will flip in the second half. One quick foul on CS and we are in trouble. IU wanted to lose this game and we let them off the hook. Too many wasted trips down low with weak finishes at the rim. IU is very beatable. Hope we get it done in the second half.

Haas has to hit those shots down low. He is getting lots of good looks and missed quite a few of them.
It was said above...Haas more than 4 feet from the basket is not a good look...he has been beyond ineffective...Purdue needs to quit feeding him unless he is on the actual block, as it is killing them otherwise. That is totally on him, but, it is the fault of those that keep feeding him as well when he is not as deep as he should be and needs to be.

Yep, great looks.........really from everyone...........just not falling
Which is why they need to defend...Purdue is capable of winning with defense if not hitting shots...IU is not...but Purdue has not been good defensively and that is a bigger issue than not hitting the open shots that it has had.

We're fine. We make adjustments and win by 9. They had their half.
They played horrible, so how in the world can you suggest that "they" had their half...no way that they play that bad in the second half, or that Purdue gets the calls that it got in the first half...Purdue had a golden opportunity and let it pass unfortunately.

Correct. Should be up and down 4. Lets just make a adjustment were Purdue. Terrible 20 minutes.

I was saying same thing. We're were up 6, should have pushed it to 10. Bunch of empty possessions.
Need to get the shooters loose and quit worrying about just trying to pound inside.

And technically 3 TOS on him... he really needs to work on that.
Come on. that TO was purely the result of a flat out horrible pass from PJ...Purdue should have held for the final shot, and instead, a horrible pass from PJ (that really should have been the TO) led to a HUGE foul on Swanigan and subsequent TO.

Up 6 and had 5 consecutive empty possessions, all with good and open looks...just can't have that happen.

They're up on their rival at half, the better team. They had their half...so there.

DG for three! Haas should not be pushed out as far as he has been. He is also falling away instead of going to the rim.
