Over the past half century, more Purdue-Minnesota games have been cliff-hangers than any other Boilermaker opponent. For whatever reason these games often come down to something like a frantic field goal attempt with the last three seconds ticking away on the clock.

Just a hunch but I think we may see another one of those this Saturday.

Coach Tillers first game against Michigan St. was one of those and scored the winner right at the end of the game.

I was at the game. I remember thinking what an idiot Saban was lining up to try a field goal with 2 minutes left. All they needed was to kneel down and give us the ball to win.

We blocked the field goal attempt for a TD. Recovered the onside kick and drove and scored a TD to win by 1 point.

I was there, too. It was my senior year. Never left the Stadium, not even at 21-10.

Purdue had another massive comeback against MSU in East Lansing the next year. Then there was the Orton heave in freezing weather in 2002.

There have bee some really good ones against Minnesota, too.

We were in the south end zone for that and was a great game. My favorite game though was when we beat ND soundly after losing at Toledo. I took a van load of customers from South Bend to the game and they were all ND fans. Made for very long drive down to the game but a very quiet and satisfying ride home.
