Unless I misread the story, ESPN has a brief write up on each bowl game and a predicated winner. The article has Purdue by 4. I am very surprised to see this.

Motivation should be a factor here. Purdue is energized with coach Jeff Brohm staying at the school to keep building with stars like wide receiver Rondale Moore. Auburn, a preseason top-10 team, envisioned much grander goals and has plenty of tension swirling around its coaches. Brohm calls an aggressive game, Moore scores three times and quarterback David Blough sparkles in his final college game.

Prediction: Purdue 35, Auburn 31

The prevailing thinking is already that Auburn won't give a shit about this "lower-tier" bowl. Their coach almost got fired. They mired through a 7-5 season On a lower level, this has 1998 Alamo Bowl written all over it. I say lower because Kansas State was #4 that day.

I like the write up.

I love the attention that Moore has gotten this year, and it is definitely well deserved. The attention is going to be at a fever pitch next year, since he should start the season as one of the Heisman preseason favorites.

That will change before the game. I am sure they won’t want to get beat by a 500 team from a “lessor conf”
I was responding to a post about whether the game would affect his job. I meant Auburn doesn't care if Malzahn wins or loses. They want him gone win or lose.

I've watched them play several times this year living in the south. They have some REALLY good D Linemen. A few guys who will be day 1 picks in the NFL. The LBs are bad and the DBs are young.

On O, buttery soft OL and a QB who isn't a great thrower but dangerous enough running the ball that I fear their best offense will be him on broken plays. Boobie Whitlow is their RB and he has been hurt all year. Mostly running behind their bad OL. He is legit though and is a tough and quick runner.

We will have our hands full but if the OL can handle their front 4s pressure we should be able to score a substantial amount of points since the rest of their defense isn't good. This should be a good and interesting matchup. I truly think Purdue is MORE athletic on offense than Auburn is and i'm not just talking about Rondale. They'd kill for a guy like Wright or Zico on the outside.

One of the LBs was a 2nd team all-SEC so they can't be all bad. The DT made a occasion out of announcing that he IS playing in the bowl game.
