That’s brutal though - Izzo vs IU is rough - good for us
Probably already been said but Heide and Colvin falling off a cliff wasn’t something we considered happening. I was hoping Colvin’s performance against USC was what got him rolling again.
Cam just looks lost out there.

For sure. Myles started off with good energy with 3 boards but on the offensive side he’d get the ball and not even look at the basket. He then would take two dribbles AWAY from the basket and stare down smith to give the ball back to him. I’m not sure if this by design or he has no confidence or has been told not to try and drive, but the offense needs more out of him than that. He also missed some big box out opportunities on weak side after we double the post and the rebound went to the weak side.
Heide was decent in wolf, especially giving up 5-6 inches in height. But offensively, it’d be great to have him see his shot go down.
Cam and him are now 12/60 from 3 in 2025.
Hopefully, they catch fire (and Harris plays up to where we know he can), but if not, it’s going to be a bit harder to get to the second weekend.
This happens all too often. It's like he doesn't know what to do unless he gets a wide-open look from 3, or gets on the fast break for a lob. You see him in the middle of the court in the half-court and it's like a deer in the headlights.
Remember the game early this season, can't remember against who, but Myles got the ball against a full court press and immediately had to get it back to Braden who was double-teamed and we turned it over. I can't believe that that's coaching.
Yeah, I don’t think it’s necessarily the first thing Myles would have did last year, but it seems he doesn’t want anything to do with the ball or he’s been told to not even attempt to dribble it.
Hope him and Heide can get out of this funk. Cuz we need them, regardless if ppl don’t feel they’re good, to make a run in March and to win the B1G
First it is at IU. Second, they have talented players that at a given moment could go off. Third their size caused Purdue problems in Mackey. Fourth, I think they are starting to put it together a bit, and it is the biggest game left for them. They will be confident, in a comfortable setting, with an urgency to the game. I doubt Goode goes off like he did, but won't be surprised to see Galloway get into the lane and cause some problems with Ballo. We saw our fears become reality in this game where a team's size put PUrdue's bigs in situations for fouls to be called adn although Purdue has some perimeter depth if Braden stays out of foul trouble which he usually does, the front line is thin and can't absorb fouls as much. This could be rectified if Cam provide what we believed he was capable.
We have witnessed quite a few PUrdue games and continue to wait for Myles and CAm to provide a spark that never happens, with neither willing to score inside the lane unless a lob for a dunk and Myles not having much confidence to handle the ball for much of a duration against slight pressure. All bets are off if some spark happens with those two...and I like some others wonder how great the difference between Brian and Myles/CAm in practice. Is it strictly on physical D that he is behind, because I'm unsure Brain hurts them on O...but again it is speculation since I don't see practice and many do wanting to put on the court they can trust ,to do what is needed,...or those on the court that can provide closer to what is needed.
I have no idea. I do think Purdue needs to shoot well because I think they get a few point blank. If Goode or Mkbaco (sp?) don't go off I like Purdue. I won't be surprised to see IU play 2-3 some at least and Purdue has to move the ball better if they do. The USC game, Purdue just screened the top 2 to get Braden in some space. IU last night played Leal back on the baseline and Galloway on top which surprised me a bit, but I don't know their personnel. How the game is called will be in play. A few weeks ago when Purdue amped their D,. it appeared to me that help side was a bit closer to the lane to help inside. IU with Galloway taller was able to see over the help and find Mabako especially and Goode some with a skip pass which they drained. Purdue's strengths and weaknesses don't change and they don't for IU either. Does IU turn it over, shoot poorly from the field and the line? Does Purdue's youth handle the crowd, not turn it over and have someone not named Braden or Fletcher to spread the court...and shoot well from the field and line? Your line may very well be close as I think it will be a close, competitive game as we all get some anxiety that maybe this is the game Myles and/or Cam find the basket...just enough at least to keep IU honest

Yeah I know. I’m all for Painter giving minutes to Waddell at this point. At least he knows how to dribble the ball
Brian provides a bit more offensive versatility in that he can also "create" opportunities for others as long as he isn't physically pushed. It might be that we lose a bit of D due to his strength and/or weight. Is he in game shape? Will he be tentative getting in now? "IF" he gets a look, do it after the first time out. What I do know for certain...there isn't much of a scouting report on him.
They definitely handed the game to Michigan. Down the stretch I felt like they didn't try to attack the rim or go inside as much solely because it was apparent that they would get abused on every attempt and there was zero chance of getting a call so empty possession. As far as Waddell tho, I don't think there is really any chance that he gets mins. I'm not totally opposed to him getting a look, but I haven't seen CMP ever really go deeper into the rotation at this point in the season.
Yes, I see no chance that CMP goes deeper in a rotation than what he has now. If anything, from past experience, the only chance would be to cut somebody out or limit mins further like Colvin or Heide rather than add somebody into the rotation.
I understand the arguments, but yeah - that's been Painter's M.O. absent some unexpected illness or injury, like it or not. Although, he has recently shown that he isn't as stubborn as he used to be.....so you never know. They are just past the 80% level for the regular season....Painter is the best judge of what he's got, and he knows he needs a couple of guys (whoever they may be) to step up in this last stretch. Candidly, I don't have a good feel for how it ends up - a LOT of good challenging games coming up, so plenty of opportunities for heroics or another dose of Boilerepherine.......
