Purdue at Michigan: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

too many calls that impacted this game. Foul out 2 post players, call a foul on a poor shooting player when braden hits a 3. Can't wait to meet these puds in the tournament. F UM

People want to see Waddell play but I'm assuming he is in the same boat as Berg....Berg doesn't get a minute and we were getting killed by their big....You would think a 7'3 guy could take up space...I assume Waddell makes Loyer look like a defensive all American

Waddell can shoot 3’s which is what the other guys on the floor can’t do

It’s worth a shot

Certainly a game that Purdue had its chances.....led for most of the game and up double digits in each half.....that one will sting given that Michigan has a leg up now. Boilers need to regroup for Saturday - probably can't afford but one more loss to really have a shot.

Just not good enough tonight on the key possessions.

Good game...fun to watch.

Great game by TKR & Smith.

Too many fumbles and missed bunnies underneath ended up being the difference. Crazy how many times we missed a close up easy bunny. Can't be Furst and do that

Superbly questionable one sided calls, but Purdue had a chance and didn't get it done. Some dumb fouls by TKR and nothing from the bench. Road games in the Big 10 are tough, especially against a team with two 7 footers.

Wolf looked like Wemby at times with cross over dribbles, drives and long range 3 pointers. They played the better game with a little assist from the Zebras

Painter needs to get this team to figure out how to play against a zone because they definitely couldn't figure it out tonight
I kinda wondered if they played zone since Purdue never defeated it last game and perimeter players that get the looks don’t drain them.

Still in the hunt. Gotta pick up a road win at MSU and probably Illinois
Yeah, needed to split the road games and win out at home. Bummer we lost because I think @ Michigan is the easiest of MSU, @IU (superbowl), and @ ILL. Michigan also has easiest remaining schedule. Will need some help.

Tonight was such a winnable game and the missed layups and horrible bench play killed us.

We LOST that game plain and simple. It was ours to take and we couldn’t get it done. Bench has to produce. And Braden has to be a bit more aggressive with shots if they aren’t. End of story
Braden did defer longer than I liked, but there were some D lapses, fumbles and a lot of points lost at the rim. Caleb will bounce back, but there comes a time where you sometimes take the shot if it is a good one during a physical game rather than pass it underneath to a less physical player defended by a more physical player

We have too many possessions where 4 guys are watching Braden. There's not enough movement, certainly not enough against the zone. Two places to get the ball against a zone, the free throw line and the baseline. We never got it to the baseline.
