As a reference to the end of the Tennessee game last year, check out Purdue's first touchdown against Minnesota (go to the 1:50 mark). Durham clearly pulls Downing over the goal line with no call.

I saw that in real time and expected a flag. When one wasn't thrown, I thought they must have changed the rule. Looks like we were lucky.

I noticed it but didn't think it was as glaring a move as in the Tennessee game. In my opinion, Downing was going to get in anyway.
 
And technically, that didn't even get called in the Tennessee game. He was ruled to have his forward progress stopped. It just became a sub-topic of discussion.

Crafty thinking there - I have yet to see it actually called as a penalty. I agree he might have made it in without the help.
