I believe you once wrote about playing ball with Jimbo Rayl at his home and hate to bring the news of his death today. Kim sent me a text from his BobKat family, but I couldn't find it to post here. It is true though because I texted Dustin to see if he was aware and he acknowledged and was bringing them lunch tomorrow. Those that do not know Jimbo, this was the son of Jim Rayl. Jim played at Kokomo and IU, but was a very good friend of Matt's and actually did some scouting on players for Matt. I believe Matt spoke at Jim Rayls funeral and won't be surprised to learn Matt is speaking at Jimbo's funeral. I know a year ago when Matt was watching Flory at Tipton that he stopped at Kokomo to see Jimbo and get some "Gabe's" Pizza. Jimbo had cancer and although I really didn't know him, we spoke a couple of times at Purdue on Flory and his handlers. Jimbo's son is Jace a walkon for Purdue. RIP Jimbo and may He provide comfort at this time. Jace is way too young to lose a father... :(

I graduated high school with Jimbo. He was a good friend. I was shocked to hear of his passing. He will be missed. Prayers for his family.

I have never heard of Jimbo but any loss across the Boiler family is a hurt. I lift the Rayl family in prayer asking God to comfort the remaining family. Death is but a reminder to those living that our time is short, know the Lord, repent, and believe so that you go where sadly fewer and fewer are ending up. God does not send anyone to Hell who did not chose their destination.

Just sharing because I care where the fine folks of this community resides for eternity.

A little more...Jim was a guard at Depauw in the early 60s and was a frat brother of Des (Mike McClure)

Jim saved my life one freezing night in '92. I was heading to Lafayette from Ft. wayne and my car overheated in Kokomo and was undriveable. I called him and he let me borrow one of his cars to drive home. He was a hell of a good guy. My company provided all the screen prints for the state championship years.
