In the spring 2022 edition on page seven is a little article entitled the Harlow Scholarship Challenge Match. I just wanted to personalize this a bit since I've known Rachelle and Brian's families for well over half a century just in case someone reads the article. The last time I saw them was at Rachelle's father's (Perry Cole) death in 2017. Perry was a brother to an x brother-in-law of mine. I played ball with Perry, his oldest son Clay, and his youngest son Don (Stud was his nickname) at various times with their graduations spanning 26 years. Rachelle and Brian's oldest daughter Adrianne has coached basketball for around 20 years and think she was an WBB assistant at one of Chris Holtmann's stops. Brian's oldest brother Jeff just retired as a minister after a few decades a couple of years ago and now just farms with his son Will. Brian is credited as being very influential in saving Kokomo a bit since he was instrumental in having Chrysler make significant investments in Kokomo while GM was moving out

Anyhow the Harlow Scholarship Challenge Match allocates $300,000 in matching dollars for scholarship endowments dedicated to the recruitment and support of underrepresented minority students in the college of Engineering, with the aspiration to see them enter the discipline of Civil Engineering. The three black boys were adopted by their youngest daughter Shanna. Their backgrounds were modest, and it is good to see good people do well
