Penn State v. Purdue Game Thread

I think that's why I completely agree with what Painter has said about Davis. He said he was the best defender he's coached at Purdue. That means he's better than Kramer. If Kramer played today, he would be handcuffed by the refs. The calls that they made on Ray in the 1st half occur on every possession of every game, but for some reason they decided to call him for them.

Similar situation to Illini game. I was thinking down 11 cut it to 6 or less. Cut it to 5. Not in bad shape but Purdue has play well in 2nd half. Ie.. If Purdue loses this game knowing NCAA situation. You cannot complain if they miss the NCAA. Purdue is the better team. The clock mangaement by PSU was horrible those last 54 secs. PSU after getting off reb could have run clock down to 0 and hit a shot being up 10 at half. Instead take a shot, Purdue hits a 3 end the half down 5.

In that context Purdue down 10 or 5? PSU loses that's where they lost the game.

Here's a crazy thought....how about Purdue v Indiana in a first round match-up in Dayton?

I clearly have too much time on my hands.

Purdue is in pretty good shape, I think. PSU came out loose and Purdue was tight, but I think Purdue's D is starting to take its toll on PSU. I like Purdue's chances in the second half and I think that fatigue could be a factor for PSU.

no fatigue, they are playing a lot of players, have 1 TO, and so far their role players have hit some shots

What I am saying is that the way this game was going this could easily be a 15 point deficit. Purdue played better down the stretch and I expect a strong second half.

Actually it appears the boys weathered a storm and I gotta believe Purdue owns the 2nd half.
I agree, but the half-fast first halves got old a long time ago.

Re: We need to Attack the rim more

Just don't understand why the Boilers can't come out with this type of energy from the start.....keep it up.

AJ needs to play with some fire. He literally just gave up trying to post up when the defender actually bodied up and watched the shot go up and didn't go in to rebound. Just stood there.

Re: what a bunch of crap! foul on davis?

hip checked Davis out of bounds, lots of touchy fouls 20ft from basket, they are bad, terrible flow to game.

Boilers cannot hit the broadside of a barn today. Shooting is awful. Hoped pre-season Purdue didn't get on the plane. Looks like they may have. ughh.

Re: and the crap calls continue!

Credit Penn State for playing tough....and harder, but Purdue is giving them some help too.

Frustrating game so far.
