Your telling me they couldn't adjust and shoot from the corners? They weren't missing anything. The reason they were hitting from the top is because they were shooting from the top because they were running high ball screen action. You shut down deep shooting off of high ball screens by switching. That worked in half two. Extending a zone that far opens it up and exposes the middle. So yeah. Clueless.
Well then, I strongly disagree. THIS team hasn't played in March at all. If you want to look at averages then out of 350+ teams, the average would be around 175 or so. I am pretty sure, even when adding in the down years in Painters career, Purdue has been well above average. That's math and all ya know.

Try backing your opinion with an explanation related to how the game is played instead if attacking age or at least the age you assume us to be. The clueless description eminates from the tired refrain of blaming a coach, any coach for a loss that was earned by the players on the floor, from both sides. Your defense was that Michigan would not have been able to hit all those threes from the corners if we played a 3-2. I don't get the tough guys comment at all. I can't imagine anyone thinking a zone would have stopped the outside shot. Most folks fully understand that a zone basically in an attempt to shut down penetration and give up the outside shooting. You're telling your opponent to take the 3. A silly argument.

Ah, OK. I assumed he was referring to Mathboy asking about his use of the word. I would say that if he is sensitive about others using the word to describe him, he shouldn't use the word to describe others. But then, I'm apparently one of those "old guys" who grew up without a safe space to run to when a "tough guy" said something on the internet that I didn't like.
I think BF35 was the first to use the word "clueless" in this thread, so I do have some problem with his drama. He quickly resorted to name calling, so maybe he can put a hold on his pretend outrage, eh? Now, in his defense, his posts were mixed into posts from several real trolls that often come in at these times, like ZZ and that Illuminati twit. Sometimes in response to these other morons, a post of differing opinion, such as his, gets swept into the troll assault/response.
BF35 is certainly welcome to his own opinion, and if he thinks a zone defense 2-3 or 1-3-1 or what ever is used to stop a hot 3-pt shooting team, well that is his special privilege. However, I would suggest that switching man-to-man is a far better way to push shooters off the 3-pt line. That UM guy was 6' 10" tall that was hitting those shoots. Who is going to guard him? Sometimes, kids just hit shots on their court, during senior night, and they can't be stopped. It is a wonderful part of the game when it's your kids. Not so much when the other guys do it.
