I know some of you are tired of hearing about Derek Willis and/or Dominique Hawkins once they chose KY over Purdue, but others still want to know what's happening with them, so here's what Calipari said tonight at a dinner I attended. He was asked about next season's roster and what some of the players were told to work on over the summer. For example: Tyler Ulis needs to develop a runner like Dellavedova shot last night in the Cav's overtime victory. After covering the big names, he added something like "...and I told Derek and Dom that if they don't prepare over the summer as if they are going to be playing a lot of minutes this year, then don't bother to come back at all."

In context, I couldn't be sure if he meant it positively...that they will be needed this year, and he does expect to play them; or, conversely, that he hasn't been satisfied with their efforts to date as bench warmers who (prior to the upcoming season) knew they had little chance to see any meaningful minutes, so put less than 100% into their prep/development. Guess we'll have to wait and see....
