Maryland and Penn State just had a hook-and-hold that included the ref. No clue what they're going to call.

Penn State up 1 second half.

Personal opinion, if they had a few more of those that included the refs there would probably be less of them (more of them called).

A Terrapins' loss would really help out the Boilers in BTT seed chances.

Have seen a little bit of this game, and Bardo had multiple instances with "Oh....he got away with that there.....that one looked fairly obvious...." Shocker....

Yes and no. We want them in a tie because we beat them, but a multi-team tie is not as good because of the Wisconsin game. And losing to MSU which is the likely secondary tiebreaker. That Wisconsin-MSU game means a lot. As does Michigan-Maryland.

I hear you Chi - a lot of possibilities. IF Purdue finishes 14-6, some multiple ties can actually put Purdue above Wisconsin. Michigan's finish placement key as well.

Maryland loss probably helps more if Purdue were to finish 13-7.

We shall see soon enough I guess, and we'll know more..........tomorrow. :)

Welp - Ace Baldwin gets a really good look with a FT line jumper to tie in the last minute, back irons it, and Maryland closes out Penn State in The Tomb, 68-64.

Not really. What's killed them is they are 2-11 in games decided by 8 points or less. Better team than 15-15, that's for sure.
And I think, but not positive, that they just got eliminated from the BTT. I put them in a 4-team tiebreaker at 6-14 (meaning they have to win in Madison) and they're last of the 4.

Did the nitties show up against ANYONE this year, besides Purdue???

conference wins - (Purdue, NW, Rutgers, Nebraska, and @ Minnesota)

They have had several competitive contests, but they have been up and down, including Baldwin. I thought they had the potential to be middle of the pack this season.

Would have been better for Purdue to catch them at a different point, but heck, you could say that for a lot of teams - Boilers just weren't ready to compete the way they needed to that game. Clearly though - best conference game performance for them.

Wow. Ace didn't even make the conference tournament as a 6th year 25 y/o, lol.

He'll always be able to tell his grandkids about the one time he got the best of the Preseason B1G POY he's 5 years older than in a cold empty arena in December though.

Going to be interesting depending on how the bid stealers play out this year for the bubble - Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi State - are all of them getting in to give the SEC ten teams?
10??? They laugh at 10.

Kentucky and Mississippi St are near locks. Vanderbilt probably has enough big wins. Arkansas was looking great until they got destroyed by South Carolina today.

Oklahoma and Texas are the teams that can push that number even higher. The question is going to be, are we putting a 6-12 or 7-11 conference record team in the NCAA. Conference record isn't supposed to matter as much anymore.

You may very well be (and probably are) right - to me, that just is ridiculous, and I've stated it when the Big Ten (plus one; no, plus two; then plus four; and now plus eight) had 7+ teams, arguing for 10.

At some point - isn't enough enough?

Yeah - I know - I'm a fossil.......

eh, their fans are already taking about the spring football game

Kansas started the season…preseason #1. Now the Jailhawks are not even ranked….and lost at home again today. Ask a jailhawk fan how is that $1 million dollar NIL for Dickenson going ? He will not play in the NBA, too mechanical.
Well that's precisely why he stayed in college. Soak up as much as he can before working at a high school in Maryland.

Another long range buzzer beater, this time for Tennessee over Alabama. Heck of a game.

Yes - Alabama really botched that last few seconds though. Seemed like a foregone conclusion, but I think that clinches the SEC regular season crown for Auburn. The Tigers mauled the Wildcats earlier today.

I knew PSU was going to blow that. They are completely unreliable. Good for about one or two major upsets each year and a whole lot of blah games.

Saw a post on Twitter that historians will ask how 2 former BigTen players destroyed Kansas from the inside.

A bit of a wash, but Iowa State handling Arizona right now. Arizona is currently the team immediately ahead of Purdue on the Matrix.

Projection is SEC 13 and big Ten 10/11

Not a whole lot on the slate today besides the 2 B1G games.

12:30 CT - Wisconsin at Michigan State - pretty obvious that we'd like Sparty to keep rolling, despite the fact that it's Whizzo. We win a 4-way tie for 3rd at 13-7 with Maryland, Wisconsin and UCLA. And that's a very reasonable result. We lose one, Wisconsin loses to Sparty and Goldy, Terps lose to Wolf and the Wolves.

2:45 CT - Illinois at Michigan - A Michigan win here eliminates 2nd place for us, but also eliminates 7th place.

Other games of some note:

Missouri State at Drake - Cuonzo is having a tough go of it at Missouri St. I really don't know what he stepped into to really judge after year 1. Drake is going to be one of those tough outs as a 11 or 12 seed in the tournament, assuming they win the Valley and take the crown from Johnny Lawrence.

Kennesaw St at Liberty - Liberty is another team that would be in position for a 12 or 13, and thus a potential 1st-round opponent. Don't know much about them.

Memphis at UAB - I call Memphis the "anti-BYU" because it seems like they play EVERY Sunday. This should be a good game.

And conference tournaments get underway with 2 games in the Atlantic Sun. Interesting thing about this conference's bracket is, instead of reseeding the teams, they actually have 9 play 10 and 7 play 8 in the first round. And those games are at the court of the 1 and 2 seeds who they will play next, tomorrow. It's an interesting and logical concept. Lipscomb is the heavy favorite in this tournament.
