I think Catchings is coming in on April 1st.Any word on anybody else visiting? Or will he get all of our attention?

I haven’t seen him play in person, but kind of agree with you on him. Currently with the players on the roster and the new ones coming in, he looks to be squeezed out.I don’t believe he has a future at Purdue. I would not be shocked if he is the second boiler to leave. You already have a crowded back court. And you have west arriving this year and Ertel arriving next year.
Look at the amount of athletes that entered the portal. It was 4 times greater this year than last year. It’s becoming if a player doesn’t start, he leaves
They might start to get scheduled over this next week now that we are out of the tourneyBack to the OP......big day @ Purdue. Chances not great, but @ least CMP is up to bat taking swings.
Surprised other visits aren't scheduled though.
FalseI don’t believe he has a future at Purdue.

Give Benter a chance before writing him off. Ertel and West are 1/2s. Benter is a 2/3. Painter likes shooters and recruited him for a reason so I don’t see him leaving this year especially after a red shirt season with no film.I don’t believe he has a future at Purdue. Why would Heide, Colvin or Harris leave?Reading tea leaves on the depot, guessing Berg is leaving, also think we’ll see a surprise player cut out, I hope Heide stays, we’ll see if both Harris and Colvin stay, I hope they return, will they?
Playing time, only so many minutes if everyone returns. I hope they all return, I think it’s 50/50, we’ll see.Why would Heide, Colvin or Harris leave?
But, it’s not a valid point. These guys know what they’ve signed up for. There are no guarantees. If a player gets his psyche hurt because the coach is looking to make the team better, then he should just not play high level athletics.Jesus Christ. My problem was more that we’re doing it in the middle of the tournament. It’d be like posting a job opening for an employee’s position right before they were going to finish a big project or give that big presentation they’d worked on all year. To act like that won’t affect their psyche or how they perform FOR THAT PROJECT is disingenuous. Everyone is human.
I will say that I think it worked out, and we were competitive against Houston. But point still stands.
Portal is open now. Everyone still in the tourney is in the same boat.Jesus Christ. My problem was more that we’re doing it in the middle of the tournament. It would be catastrophically shortsighted to judge a player by the school he attends.Baylor Scheierman was from SDSU and he was very good at Creighton for 2 yrs
Alabama's Grant Nelson is damn good and he came from someplace like North Dakota.Sounds like a great get for us if we land him, but I find it hard to believe a kid from SDS is the top player in the portal.
Considering that neither Burgess or Jacobsen played last night it surprises nobody but you that they didn't get a rebound.Seeing as none of Burgess, Berg, or Jacobsen could grab a rebound last night, I'd say that recruiting over them is exactly what needs to be done.
Water is also wet. More news at 7.Rather than saying a player is the best player in the portal, it is more appropriate to say and accurate to state a player is currently the best player available at his position.
There are many more players that are better, but they play different positions.
When it was announced Cluff was considering Purdue, two other centers who entered the portal had already signed.
Is Cluff better than Flory? Maybe, maybe not. But Flory wasn’t in the portal when it was said Cluff was the best player.
The portal is fluid
If they really want a rim protector Flory is the guy.Rather than saying a player is the best player in the portal, it is more appropriate to say and accurate to state a player is currently the best player available at his position.

If you just showed me the profiles of Cluff and Flory I would take Flory. But Cluff's ability to pass and shoot 3's is hard to overlook. Saw highlights against Alabama and looks like he can play with the big boys.If they really want a rim protector Flory is the guy.
Can we get an insider on how the visit is going right now!? 😂If you just showed me the profiles of Cluff and Flory I would take Flory. But Cluff's ability to pass and shoot 3's is hard to overlook. Saw highlights against Alabama and looks like he can play with the big boys.
I have seen Auburn and IU are the two to watch. Would make sense what you’re saying tho.My gut says that Flory will return to Kansas with a very high level of compensation. I think that this is mostly about money. I could be wrong, but I am not holding my breath waiting for Flory to come to Purdue.
My basis is a post I saw on the Jayhawks Reddit that basically said this came from his guardian. It’s hard to tell what is real, but I doubt that Purdue will get into this bidding war.I have seen Auburn and IU are the two to watch. Would make sense what you’re saying tho.
Me too. Word of Kokomo before he committed was that Pearl was contanstly seen around town to make his presence known to Flory. He was tight with Auburn. Perhaps he had buyers remorse with Self.I have seen Auburn and IU are the two to watch. Would make sense what you’re saying tho.
Your “point” has been refuted over and over again.Jesus Christ. My problem was more that we’re doing it in the middle of the tournament. Good sign for signing Cluff for us.
Let’s go!Good sign for signing Cluff for us.
Money is a consideration. No idea where we are NIL wise.Yes i seen that so why would cluff go to lowa state i mean purdue going to be good next year
That’s seems highly likely nowBlake Buchanan committed to Iowa state…soooo would Cluff commit to us?
The presentation would have been the next day when the Houston game was since we announced the visit and that we were portaling and who we were contacting in the portal prior to that game..Your “point” has been refuted over and over again.
For your hypothetical to be applicable, the “presentation” you describe wouldn’t even begin until late summer/early Fall of 2025
If your boss found someone within the next month or so who could do a better job on that 2025-2026 presentation, that boss would be derelict to not bring that person on board!
Don’t think it’s a positive thing to do but it’s reality now in college hoops. We don’t know what conversations Painter had with current players. For all we know Waddell told him he was gone next year. The presentation would have been the next day when the Houston game was since we announced the visit and that we were portaling and who we were contacting in the portal prior to that game..
Whatever. It does seem like I am in the minority, and everyone thinks recruiting over our current players in the middle of the tournament is a positive thing to do. So I will not push it any further.
YEs!!!!Give Benter a chance before writing him off. Ertel and West are 1/2s. Benter is a 2/3. Painter likes shooters and recruited him for a reason so I don’t see him leaving this year especially after a red shirt season with no film.
Those end of year 1 on 1 meetings with Painter could get interesting especially if they already got portal guys coming in for visits.
Is that a good thing? I have to admit, his highlight reel doesn't leave me very impressed.Brian seems to think Cluff is gonna sign with us.
He gives a second low post scorer who can rebound. Teams can’t ignore him like they did furst (not trying to be critical of him) when he’s on the floor. Was second in the nation with rebound per game (12.3)…leader was 12.4. Def need rebounding for next year. With JUCO ruling he could have two years left of Eligibility. Is that a good thing? I have to admit, his highlight reel doesn't leave me very impressed.
But then again, I'm wrong lots. And lots. Just ask my wife.
You and I must be watching very different highlight reels. Is that a good thing? I have to admit, his highlight reel doesn't leave me very impressed.
But then again, I'm wrong lots. And lots. Just ask my wife.
