Nothing new here, I know, but a few quick thoughts on why I'm such a fan of Isaac Haas.

1. By all accounts, he's a great kid. He's had interactions with two of my children and has been extremely kind and humble. That means the world to my kids (and to me).

2. I know I'm a homer, but I truly believe he gets a horribly raw deal from officials. Despite this, I never see him adopt a self-pitying mentality, and though he has far more reason to be aggrieved than most players ever do, he keeps his composure and keeps battling.

3. He demonstrates an excellent work ethic. Each year he has improved his skills (FT percentage!), his conditioning, his flexibility, and his performance. That comes from long hours in the gym, the weight room, and everywhere else.

4. Lastly, he always makes the most of his circumstances. I know it's a minor thing, but for players, being a starter matters. He hasn't started lately, and he still comes in and gives us quality play. I believe this patience and humility will lead to a wonderful senior campaign (after a very positive junior campaign).

Pure class. Great rep for purdue

I remember a year ago he did a fake public service commercial with Hammons about safety when cleaning leaves out of your gutters. He stressed things like wearing gloves. Obviously neither needed a ladder. Very funny. Very self deprecating.

I like to be able to watch a game and never be embarrassed by the behavior of our players. No look at me stuff, crying about fouls, taunting the opposition. Too many teams out there like that.
It's a credit to the players and to Painter and the staff.
It's is also a credit to Purdue fans that demand players of that caliber

yes,, it isn't hard to figure out that he is an exceptional human being. I think that he might be a little afraid to play more aggressive than he already does. Three of his foul calls come from him just standing there and the other two from moving. If he played more aggressive, the refs would have him fouled out in the first half if they could.

Haas will get his chance to be the man next year.

He is great. As far as his game goes, I feel like sometimes he makes it to personal. He gets the ball and is intent on knocking around the guy who is guarding him. This usually results in an offensive foul, travel, or turnover. He needs to shoot or pass when he gets the ball. I feel Biggie did that last year against MSU. He had a few hero shots because beating them was personal. I don't see him doing that this year.
