If his 3 point shooting hits 38.2% or better for the season (like what he did for the conference slate last season), he would have a shot to be a Bruce Bowen type player in the NBA.

Agreed?

Rays game isn't what I would call smooth, but he works his ass off and that will always give him a shot. But realistically, I think he's playing for a high level Europe spot at this point. I don't see him as athletic enough to play in the NBA.

I am still a little surprised by how well he shot from deep the 2nd half the year. He had some really clutch shots late in game that very likely were the difference between wins and losses. But he was such a low volume shooter at that range, that I don't feel like I've seen enough to know that this is the "new normal" for him. To your point though, if he shows he can be consistently good with a deep jumper, I don't see any reason why he wouldn't get a shot at an NBA roster next year.

Bowen had an advantage over Davis because he's 6'7" and long.

yeah, just not sure Davis is a polished enough scorer/shooter to make it in the NBA. He could be a 3 and D guy, but would need to improve his 3 point shooting.

Many thought the same for Cardinal but there is always that guy. He reminds me of a Dahntay Jones.

Davis will be successful in fields other than professional basketball. His intelligence and drive will make him a valuable person in the business world. I'd hire him right out of Purdue, right now. He might enjoy some seasons playing overseas, but his long term world is outside that NBA tatted-up nonsense. He will be a life-time career person whether he has a ball in his hands or not.

love RD, but he has no shot at the NBA. Players on our team that have NBA potential

Hammons
Haas
Biggie
Edwards
K. Stephens

Davis did seem to improve his athleticism from his sophomore to junior seasons. He was a step quicker and a stronger finisher from what I saw. So, I think it's possible that he hasn't reached his "ceiling" yet and that he can continue to get better. He looks like he's added some muscle mass and definition over the last six months, so his strength should be improved this season. However, he definitely has to become a more consistent mid-to-long range shooter and probably a better overall ball-handler as well if he would have a chance to ever play in the NBA. He would have to play the 2 at that level.

We still haven't really seen anything from him yet, but I would add Jacquil Taylor to your list. I think the potential is there for him to eventually become a very good college player.

He needs to develop his left hand. Everything he puts up is right handed. Scouting report has to say to sit on his right hand and you will stop him

Dahntay Jones was a defensive guy. His athletic ability was good in college for dunks but it did little for him at the Pro level. Believe me it was his defense.

I like Davis, but he has 0% shot at the NBA. Guys with more skill and athleticism are a dime a dozen.
