of Purdue winning the NCAA tournament next year went from 100-1 to 33-1! This translates to us being viewed as 3 times better with Biggie than without, by people putting money on it. Bet $20 and win $660! Maryland is the overall favorite at 9-1. AJH returned for his final year to win the whole thing, and Biggie said he wants to bring Purdue's first NCAA title home. This team is very dangerous. I'm glad that Biggie committed and signed, if for no other reason than shutting up ALL the negative people who were posting that Biggie isn't coming and Painter can't recruit. Rock On BIGGIE!

I like him because he makes us such a dynamic offensive team since he's so skilled to go along with a body that can bully inside and manufacture points by offensive rebounding and low post scoring.

I think what he brings more then anything, is options. We can move bigger players to positions where they can create mismatches such as Edwards at the 3 or even the 1 which was not an option before. If Painter can take this talent and find a tight 9 man rotation, it should be very good. Other teams may have significant drop offs when going to the bench. We shouldn't. Enjoy the ride.

Fun fact, the odds of the Chicago Cubs winning the world series are 5:1 or less every year at a lot of casinos. I asked my friend who lives in Vegas why it's this way. He said so many people come to Vegas and bet on the Cubs anyway there is no need to give good odds.

OK, so if we improved to 33:1 with Biggie, where must have IU been before they kicked two key players off the team, if they are at at 25:1 now. Would any knowledgable (non-Hoosier) basketball fan (OK, iI know that a knowledgable Hoosier fan is an oxymoron) really think the current version of the IU team has better championship potential than Purdue's? Sucker bet for sure!

IU is always over-rated and Purdue is always under-rated. This is just where we want to be as a team, and a great place to be if you want to bet. Even somebody who never bets could risk $10 and win $330! This is the best year to bet on Purdue. Here is the link to betting on Purdue in case anyone is curious or wants to try it: https://www.bovada.lv/welcome/P1C95F2B/join/?extcmpid=rafcopy

I like this site for odds - 50/1 here with IU at 40/1. Still the 19th best odds to win it all. http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-basketball/odds/futures/
As I understand betting odds, the higher the pay out, the more tempting the bid. In other words, a bettor migh not make a wager at 40:1, but at 50:1, the payout becomes more tempting.

As far as I am concerned, neither Purdue nor IU has enough talent to win the NC next year. Either bet is most likely just a subsidy to the odds makers. However, these odds tell me that Vegas thinks the IU faithful are more likely to bet on IU, than the Purdue bettors are to bet on Purdue. Put differently, Vegas understands that IU folks are more gullible.

Before anyone jumps to the wrong conclusions, this has nothing to do with our expectations of our programs. Both IU and Purdue have expectations of a NC in the next few years. It is about who is actually on the respective teams next year, the capabilities of the respective coaches, and the fans assessment of their abilities.
