Dang this is unfortunate but not surprising. Travis must be crushed. Just went he thought he won over all those who slandered his name from the former G&B crowd now the sites are merging. Maybe Travis can be a mod for On3 now. That would be funny.

Sometimes it takes a fan to create one. I think that's how btownbanners was made. Another site I go to as well(mostly just SEC guys. I've created them after ESPN and CBSSports shut their doors on commenting sections.
so the guy who founded rivals and sold it to yahoo, then founded 247 and sold it to CBSsports, then founded On3 now selling On3 with a merger of rivals and On3. Yahoo will have a stake in the merged operations.
So wait a sec.. people left rivals to go to on3 only to come back.. so in a year or two can we expect another split?

Won't go back to GBI, paid for GBI (both ON3 and Rivals) for a while then they started letting all kinds of religious bashing go on and I left ON3. Also not worth paying for their writing as most of their "in-depth insider" reporting is just stating the obvious because they can't share any real inside information if they have it, so what the heck are you paying for?

Same. I paid for GBI for a bit long before the initial split, went to ON3 for the dollar rate.. and honestly aside from the whole Brian/April "inside scoop" there just wasn't much worth to it.
Sites like ON3/Rivals are really a dying breed... information is readily available and it is extremely hard to get a "scoop" anymore. Worse case you have to wait a day and any insider info is already across the net.
Sites/forums like this used to provide scoops and info that other main stream sites didn’t provide. That’s what attracted people. Now all this site does is trash talk, argue with fans and brag about trolling IU.
Take a look at the off topic forum. You say things there that would get you banned everywhere else.
Brian once banned me on old gold iron whatever because I was critical about Zhazell and his loser recruits. I was never banned for my interactions with other posters. He released the ban when he and everyone one else realized how bad Hazell and his recruits were. I wasn’t being mean about Hazell or his recruits, I was being factual. I’ve also never been banned on any other Internet forum.
And for those of you wondering what started this, a poster mentioned my name and didn’t use my entire name and spoke ill of me. I believe I mentioned this before. If you make fun of my name or speak ill of me. I will respond, and your threads will take an ugly turn! If this board was actually moderated like other sites are, I would not feel compelled to reply to your continual harassing posts!

100%. Before social media it was a good source for information. Once everything started getting posted on Twitter it just became us paying for their opinions and speculation.
I really soured on them when it was revealed they had a reporter texting assistant coaches family trying to stir the pot and did not immediately relieve her of her duties. Unbelievably unprofessional.
Not much going on there.
I still visit once a month or so.
Yeap and as far as basketball recruiting, all you read is how good of shape we are we such and such a player until they commit somewhere else and nothing more.

The good thing about all of this is you likely will have nowhere to go and just disappear. On a fully moderated site, your long winded verbal diarrhea type posts would likely get nuked, then you'd complain like you always do, then subsequently get banned for complaining.
At least from this point forward I finally will click on ignore and only have to know you exist when your name pops up but can easily just skip over your posts since I know they won't be of any value.

Start your own forum and moderate it. I can't imagine anything that would make you happier than posting walls of nonsensical words every day and dictating to others what they can and can't post.

I think it used to be before the split a few years back .. now seems scattered among at least 4 or 5+ sites (this, reddit, ON3, etc).
Discord is a good option, imo, as long as it is properly secured. I prefer it to something like telegram or an anon sub Reddit. Discord has a lot of good chats features, the ability to go live with audio and video, works on every device quite well, and a lot more. Many people already use it too.
Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate it. I know my reputation with the message boards over there and I honestly do not know what Alana, Brian, and tom think of me personally. I know Brian has said a few negative things in the past, but that was many moons ago. I have never been a member of their forum, so who knows.
Our contract with Rivals run through November 1, so hopefully we have more info before them.
