On this day one year ago

snip...snip...By the way: Did you know that more people refused to accept the results of the 2016 election than the 2020 election? It’s true, according to the Washington Examiner’s Byron York, who writes that while 58% of Republicans today say Biden wasn’t legitimately elected, 67% of Democrats said the same thing about Trump back in 2017.

@BuilderBob6 did emotional left wing Twitter cover this???

what is up is now down, what is down is now up. Head spinning crap going on in our government. For me I did not notice much or was uninterested until Obama cam along. I watched every video I could get my hands on of Jan 6th and thought this is a nothingburrger. I underestimated the liberals' once again. At some point there will be push back and it won't look anything like what happened on Jan 6th. It will be real next time.
What if two hundred unarmed people walked in the capital and locked the doors...were they going to overthrow the country? ;) Yes, there is a certain grumbling amongst many and has been for "some time". People see the increasing desire for more control of the people and a reduction in their freedoms and start to watch. Look how long the Clinton Foundation lasted taking in millions before they couldn't deliver. You think selling out the country would have everyone concerned, but no...that lasted for a few years. Now you have the media shutting down conversation on Hunter's laptop and his art dealings as well as the old Ukraine firing. Soooooooo many dots, people refuse to see in so many areas and instead we are to take serious those trespassers unarmed as a threat to this country? How Phuckiing stupid are we when the real threats are in front of us and we refuse to see what is going on daily? Anyhow, I hope things don't escalate down the road to the point that a real civil war breaks out, because our Republic was NEVER at risk as much as right now.

Where is Susan Rice these days?

Also, if Mike Pence would have walked out into the rotunda and started to yell at people to sit down, my guess they would have. real scary people.
Susan was probably looking for a video to try to blame trump since the previous one only worked for the dems on Benghazi

Dems are trying to paint allllll Republicans as enemies of the state with this dramatic theater
you can't expect them to run on policies accepted by an emotionally mature taxpayer so they have to generate emotions for their emotionally driven base.

What makes this even more interesting is that Trump was facing manufactured lies the whole way to prevent his election and Biden had all the rule changes in play to create the huge statistical abnormality in votes registered, in total counties carried and not carrying the traditional states that all presidents carried before. So, when you place in context the environment at election time due to the media knowing they were lying (that at least now should be obvious to all) in 2016 and rule changes in 2020 it makes the 58% and 67% even more dramatic.

Glad your feelings were not hurt. However, to raise the event to the significance sought by the dems and to your fear does require a lot of touchy, feely emotional buy in because the mature mind knows there never was an overthrow threat. That was theater to their emotional voters or democrats in general and still theater because that is how the dems arouse their emotional base. Meanwhile real important things are going on much more a threat to this country and crickets. Played like pawns...yes, we disagree
Well, you of such self-confirmed maturity of mind, let me ask you a couple of questions.
1. Why were the rioters there?
2. Why did they forcibly enter the Capitol building? I have been there many times. There is plenty of room outside to protest.
3. Why were they yelling "hang Pence"?

If you want to talk maturity, you might want to consider Trump. He spent weeks bellowing about a stolen election without evidence. He told people to take action. They did. It was his refusal to accept that he lost the election that led to all of this. I am not a democrat or even a liberal. I am calling it as I see it.

I will never ever understand why anyone tries to minimize this or act like it wasn’t anything serious. It was an unprecedented day in the history of this nation. Why wouldn’t EVERYONE want to know why it happened and make sure it doesn’t happen again? I mean I can certainly come to some conclusions as to why certain folks want to downplay it, but I would like to think anyone who gives a damn about this country would be rightfully appalled at what happened.

The only consistent retorts I ever see is “but riots “, and yeah, those are awful in their own right but as you said, that’s just deflecting (while those who use those retorts seem to fail to understand that folks can rightfully be concerned about both things at once) or that it wasn’t that big of a deal. I get that’s what the Tuckers of the world tell people , but we’ve all seen the panicked texts by those same people pleading with trump to stop it. So yeah, it WAS a big deal.

You and I most likely fundamentally disagree on everything else policy-wise, but I appreciate the bigger picture take here. I guess you’re the Adam Kinziger of the board now. Lol.

1) They were there to shoot them with improvised pistols
2) The improvised pistols don't shoot far and so they had to get closer
3) When they got in they couldn't find the improvised pistol and so were trying to hang Pence on the coat rack in case he was standing on the improvised pistol. They were all told Ashli Babbitt had the improvised pistol not knowing she was innocently killed and didn't have it. Where is the investigation into THAT officer? All these people need trump to start the day for them, because they can't be held reponsible...THAT wouldn't fit the grab for power narrative. These mindless bots couldn't breathe without Trumps beliefs. If you are calling it as you see it and try not to be biased and place this in a similar context enough to be concerned without mention of legitimate concerns happening daily, then the only advice I would have is to start over. You need a do over maybe?

This is so phucking small and I don't mean the couple of hours that took place...I mean figuratively in comparison to the reality going on EVERY day for MANY hours. What were those unarmed people going to do...pitch quarters...draw ugly pictures? Yeah, THAT risk was sooooooo bad in comparison to the attacks on the first and second and the border for just a few starters.

For clarity, since it seems it was lost again. Those trespassers should bear the brunt of the law for trespassing or any other real, not made up charge of the law. Instead they want to escalate it for political purposes to their emotional base. Meanwhile, they continue to turn a real blind eye to the real damage to the Republic since that doesn't enhance the grab for power.

It’s still going on though, tj. Certainly through all of your blathering, you see this. Lots of Republican politicians continue to say the election was stolen. Folks like Marjorie Taylor Green, an elected member of congress, screams about this every day and swears her allegiance to Trump. You can try to deny or minimize this, but it’s every single day. This seeps into the minds of folks like guidelines and then ends up with a 1/6.

I’m not sure why you’re trying to minimize that day. Those weren’t mere trespassers. It’s frankly sad that anyone would think that wasn’t a big deal when we know the reactions and the pleadings of those closest to Trump at that time. I would say you’re better than this, but alas, you’re clearly not.

Why was this Democrat saying this?? Looks like the same thing MJT is saying? Were you this mad when Harris said this??

you are the one that mentioned the improvised weapons on jan6. You also that there was a threat to the government which is hyperbole at best, ignorance if not. I tried to give you a chance to redeem yourself with the single incident in the history or mankind where there was a real threat without weapons. Those were very much on target and yet an absence of historical support for your stance is there to see and you go to an emotional, imaginary hypothetical instead. As I said a long time ago...I don't need to try to change your mind. I gave you historical facts for consideration and you dismissed them and so weigh how you wish the trespassing on jan 6 that you have an interest absent the weighing of that on many days before and after Jan 6.

I don't think they get this was a set up to begin with. Those people would not have gained entry at my place of work, but they walk right into the US Capitol while it was in session???????????????????????????????

Shhh, the only reason they let them walk right in with the encouragement (was that a FBI guy?) was because they were pointing Ashli Babbitt's improvised weapon and had no choice. In a split second she might imaginarily shoot them. It is very common for overthrows of the government to not only use improvised weapons, but be invited into the place they wish to overthrow. We know this through history of all the successful overthrows.

I'll give it 1 more shot. Why were protesters shouting "hang Pence", what motivated them to do so and what would have happened had they actually got a hold of him?

First, I have no idea why people gage their ears. I could go on and on not knowing why people do what they do. Why do people still smoke? You are sliding down a slippery slope of no returns when you blame a different person than the one that does something for the problem. That thought process can go into a lot of directions due to victimology...all alleviating the victim of his or her true involvement. This is a pretty common virus infecting many daily. I'm trying not to propagate that. You don't know why someone (and who was this person or group?) shouted "hang Pence" or any other thing shouted. You are ready to assign a responsible party outside the actual person or group that stated this as to a reason. Why would you guess at something "if" you know the people that actually said that? State what facts you have an others casn judge. Guessing at things like media today and implying what you guess is for those that don't want to actually think about things...they need an interpretator. Wouldn't it make much more sense to say there were people in the crowd that shouted "hang Pence" and that you took that serious rather than hyperbole without treating your guess as a valid explanation? That would be accurate and not guessing at a reason the media told you to hold. When you blame an external party for the actions of another you are not only blame shifting(which is a form of control and why the dems use it), but also giving an alibi to the one that actually did the act in consideration and both are wrong! You see, you are willing to guess and treat that as a fact and I'm not. I know that anything said is out of free will. That said, I shouldn't have been so testy. No matter what issues may be at play, I had a choice and I made the wrong choice in being testy to you and for that I'm sorry. I made the testy response from free will and my apology was from free will. Nobody made me get testy and nobody made me apologize. Still, we need to be aware of the "Thought Police" where crimes now may be "hate" crimes as though there are love crimes. We bought that hook, line and sinker and so the seeds have been planted.

Well that was long winded and as empty as it was long. You probably need to go back and watch all of the video available and then think cause and effect. You can put it together.

You know, you come across as an intelligent person. But considering the position you're taking with these remarks, I have to assume you have simply chosen to ignore all the videos of what happened at the capitol or you just can't remember seeing them the first time.

Here are videos of rioters breaking into the capitol and assaulting law enforcement. I'll take issue with your other statements in another post so as to not give you an opportunity to deflect and BS your way through this response.
Please explain to me how this is "let(ing) them walk right in. And before you come back with it, there are videos of citizens walking right into the capitol...........hours after these videos were taken and law enforcement had backed off. And long after Babbit was killed..........who wasn't walking right into the house chamber.........but trying to break down the door with capitol police officers and members of congress on the other side.

Go ahead and shoot someone breaking down your door and don't be surprised when you get carted off to jail.

There is much video of the protestors simply being waved into the capitol.

Overall, that footage would seem really bad to 2019 America, but after having lived thru the lawlessness of 2020, it's frankly totally in keeping with the rules now. Shall I post some footage of what the left did after George Floyd ? Obviously its regrettable, but it was a situation that was caused mainly by professional agitators, and it pales in comparison to what would have happened if Trump had won.

In a town in CT, Benedict Arnold is still hung in effigy on an annual basis. One guy shouting hang Pence seems a lot tamer than what was said about Trump by the media and left political media entertainment academia complex for over 4 years.

There you go again making BS statements. "pretty much all Democrat elected prosecutors"? Where do you get that from?

Nice deflection as usual.

More examples and articles of “soft” DAs. And people wonder why crime is on the rise in large metropolis cities with blue DAs in the US.

they are basically saying, “go ahead, commit crimes because their is zero punishment”
