and gave Indiana state an extra defender up the middle.

NOBODY THINKS THE MOTION MAN WILL HURT THEM! Ever!!

Yup and we rarely do anything special when we call a read play. Takes play action out of our play book and really stunts the runs we can call.

My biggest thing is how much is shoop taking away from appleby (or blough) in terms of not making the corners on both sides have to respect deep routes

Why are we always in shotgun it slows down our rb
So far, we've averaged nearly 500 yards of offense a game. We averaged 282 ypg in 2013, and 344 ypg in 2014. The spread is working so far. We have much better balance than previous years and can actually move the ball for the first time in Hazell's tenure.

Do we need to use an ACE formation or Strong/Weak look on 3rd/4th and short? Yes, probably. Problem is, who is your lead blocker? We don't have a real FB right now. At least not one that's ready. If Richie Worship had more experience, maybe you'd use him. He doesn't know the offense yet.

I wouldn't be complaining. Shotgun runs are a common play in college football, there's a large amount of teams that do the same thing. Plus our run game is doing better than it has in a while, so I am happy

Oh come on so because we are running better than last year, everything is great lol. We have a better oline and better runners than last year of course things are going to look better. My issue is the read run plays do nothing for us as our qb is not a qb read type guy. These read plays are to pull a defender to the nonball carrier but I haven't seen that do it once. One play we could have seen it work the RB didn't want to let go of the ball while the defender was engaged with him making the offense look like idiotic and unprepared. We aren't throwing the ball enough to warrant always being in shotgun.

We don't need to be running power with FB to see the benefits of having a qb under center. The fact is the shotgun has the hand-off occurring when the hb is barely moving. The hb cannot hide what side of the ball he is going to be getting it as he is directly to the left or right of the qb. It gets rid of the playaction play, because honestly play action draws are super stupid.

This. The slow down comes because AA is too slow with the read during the mesh.
