He’s not a 5 star lineman. He doesn’t have any major offers. But he has attended a lot of division 1 summer camps. And a lot of Division 1 schools have shown interest in him. He’s just a personal friend. He currently is playing for a Tennessee high school. He previously lived in Georgia and Southern Illinois. His dad was a professor at SIU.

I’m not sure if it’s an official or unofficial visit. His dad posted a picture of him in a Purdue uniform that said you're invited and his dad indicated they were coming.

He’s in the class of 2026. He’s 6’4 and 280 pounds. Cookeville, Tennessee. He has no D1 power 5 conference current offers. He has no current rating. He visited Appalachian St last weekend.

He’s under the radar. But someone on Walters’ coaching staff must like him because before today he was not planning on attending this game. This Summer he had zero interest in Purdue. And now he is going to attend this week’s game and he has an AI Purdue picture of himself. So somebody at Purdue knows who he is and has seen him play!

All I really know about him is that he’s an Eagle Scout and he’s super smart. And his dad is also super smart and a great guy!

I just want to point out he is a class of 2026 recruit and not a 2025 recruit. Once rated, he will most likely be 3 stars.

2026 are already rated on 247
i suspect he'll receive a rating soon. he received an official offer from Memphis, Liberty and maybe Wake Forest. . somebody on Walters staff invited him to Purdue. Here are his vitals. I'm unsure if they are mediocre/good/great. But those of you who know something about football should be able to review and compare them with other 2026 recruits.

6'5" 285lbs
40 Yard Dash: 5.4
Shuttle: 4.6
Vertical: 21
Bench: 215
185lb Bench Press (Reps): 7
Squat (lbs): 425
deadlift (lbs): 425
Clean (lbs): 225

I’m no expert but that seems pretty solid.

his dad always comments about the teams his son visits. his comments after today's game. " another 4 AM wakeup call. a very cool stadium. a big game." those comments were obviously made before the game started. after the game - no comments were made.

from his dad's posts, it looks like UNC and Wake Forest are recruiting him hard. although not currently ranked,, he's had interest shown from a lot of other BIG 10 teams. We'll see what happens.

At the moment, I feel a little embarrassed to ask him about his visit.

As fans we all say, yup, after seeing a game like this, a recruit will think he has a chance at immediate playing time. but the reality is, Purdue has a long history of redshirting their offensive linemen in order to strengthen them and bulk up. so that's really a reality for somebody who will be lucky if gets rated as a low 3 star athlete. he's not going to jump tothe top of our depth chart just because our o line laid a huge egg today.

I will ask, how much of a team locker room does a recruit actually get to see ? Does the recruit get to be part of the half time talk? or the after the game evaluation ? or do they just get to meet the coach and watch the game ?

it was obvious from his comments, it wasn't truly an official visit. His dad drove him up to see the game from Tennessee. He played in a high school game Friday night. was one of the players or coaches assigned to escort him around ? Do the coaches contact him after the game and ask , how'd you like the game and want to be a Boiler?

I'll admit, I know very little about the recruiting process. But I know this boy's parents. and I know this boy and his brother from boy scouts. he's not a 4/5 star athlete. But he has acquired the attention of many division one teams.

when a recruit without an offer gets invited to attend a game , what can you expect to happen ? I'm asking so that I may learn.

I bit my lip, and decided to ask for his impression of his visit. his dad is a university department chairman, not a football coach. this was his reply.

"They have a good looking team, they may actually try to throw the ball too much. I knew ND would be out for blood. Great game day experience, cool campus."
