Because they have ignored it and will continue to ignore it.Help me understand how that isn’t an accessory? Why is this not a bigger deal?
This. Will be interesting to find out when this was signed relative to these charges.piling on the crazy,
Oats just had a contract extension/raise a few weeks ago
For anyone who wants a sane take on the situation, Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander spend the first 25 minutes on their Eye on CBB podcast discussing it.
Both Miller and Brantley's cars were blocking the victim's...I heard his car and another players car were used to block the victims escape. I saw that only in one place and no other mention. Anyone else?
From what I understand he is an accessory of an accessory..Help me understand how that isn’t an accessory? Why is this not a bigger deal?
It doesn't matter who's gun it is. Miles texted Miller asking for his "joint" ie, gun at 1:40am. And based on the text, Miller knew there was an encounter that happened prior to the shooting. And Miller brought it in his car. I don't see how he's not in the wrong and considered an accessory in this...Rumors flying everywhere. Not sure what to believe yet. I've read that it wasn't Miller's gun, but actually Miles and he left it in Miller's car, so Miller was just returning a gun that wasn't registered to himself (which would make sense, I wouldn't want somebody else's gun in my car).
Not sure if this is true or if this is some Alabama spin somebody is throwing out there.
When asked by Finebaum if the gun in question belonged to Miller or Miles, Robinson confirmed that the gun belonged to Miles. She also notes that, according to police, Miller didn’t “hand” the gun to Miles but it was in the car that Miller drove to meet him.
Robinson also made it clear that, based on the evidence, it does not appear that Miller knew what was happening when Miles texted him to bring his gun and had no “knowledge of intent,” which is likely why he was not charged with any crimes.
I bet his term papers are a real treat to read.I call BS on Miller not knowing what was happening...
"After the encounter, the suspects walked to a nearby parking lot around 1:40 a.m. Around the same time according to text messages shown in court, Miles texted Miller, "I need my joint a n****r rl jus got fakin"."
I'm curious about this part. Yes I read that he parked his car in a manner which blocked the road. But somehow the victims car was able to drive away after the shooting.Did he drive the getaway car? If he used his car to block them in, that bumps him up to accomplice.
Alabama gave the all clear. He is the good guy since he is a cooperating witness.
LOL that's a press release. Short on facts.
South Carolina giving Miller and Co. a good fight, up 4 at the half. Fans are booing Miller, but they would probably get more energy if it was the women's team playing.
Buying a handgun requires that it be registered in your name. It is against federal law to simply give it to someone else. The weapon must be registered to the new owner. Where are the feds in this?Hard to believe the tone deaf response from the coach Re a situation that he’s had 3 weeks of knowledge/prep time for. I think the Bama President would be wise to step in and tell him, “sit this kid the rest of the season or you go too.” Hopefully the heat continues on this front.
Is anyone in power willing to take a stand against this kind of thing? A lot closer to home here, in the Summer of ‘21, a Merrillville teacher’s aide bought a gun that he then gave to his boyfriend up in Chicago that was used to kill a young female cop. The judge let him bond out and the Merrillville district didn’t fire him…WTF?!?! A great example for the kids under his charge and never heard shit from district parents either.
It was Miles' gun, not Miller's. Miles is in jail.Buying a handgun requires that it be registered in your name. It is against federal law to simply give it to someone else. The weapon must be registered to the new owner. Where are the feds in this?
They had zero clue how to get the ball out of his hands down the stretch. They couldn't defend the PnR and their big would just back up and let him put up shots at the rim. Poorly coached team in South Carolina. They even had multiple timeouts left when the game ended INCLUDING calling on after a made basket with 7:59 on the clock.SC could not stop Miller at all. He's a really good player.
Well I guess there's a reason they've only won 3 SEC games. Alabama didn't impress me outside of Miller. Play good perimeter defense and have someone like Edey awaiting in the paint would greatly reduce the wide open 3s and layups. They had zero clue how to get the ball out of his hands down the stretch. And Oats doubled down by consulting Ray Lewis for advice on the matter. OJ Simpson might have been more helpful but he probably wasn't available
Alabama Hoops Coach Nate Oats Reportedly Reached Out to Ray Lewis for Advice on Handling Murder Involving Now Former Player Darius Miles

Fact?? or cover-up? It's happened many times before.
State regulatedBuying a handgun requires that it be registered in your name. It is against federal law to simply give it to someone else. The weapon must be registered to the new owner. Where are the feds in this?
TRUE. In Indiana, I can buy a gun with no registration to the feds, then transfer it to anyone who has an Indiana driver's license. No problem. There is paperwork on file for a handgun with the dealer, if I buy it from a dealer, but that paperwork is never given to the feds. I can buy any handgun I want from another seller within the state.State regulated
