There was a thread on here about bad losses and strange calls in Purdue history.

That out of bounds off the free throw is one of the worst calls in history. Never in the history of officiated games has a ref given the ball to the team that bats at the ball instead of rebounding as Cline did.

It was CLEARLY off the Iowa player. With that said, Purdue blew 10 chances to win.

Bo said they didn't overturn it because they couldn't see if Cline's finger was touching the ball. But that's irrelevant. If two people are simultaneously touching the ball the player who forces the balls movement is considered to be the last one who touches it. That happens multiple times per game on rebounds. I do think the monitors they use may play a role in a review like this.

And I also think it was odd for Biggie to not go after it. He's so aggressive around the ball normally.

Reminded of the pick up game guy who swats the ball out of bounds and argues that because you were holding the ball when he karate chopped it and your arms, the ball necessarily touched you last. That guy always had the misfortune of receiving a pass to the back of the head when I played. My bad.

The video was absolutely inconclusive, they made the right call there.

If they called it in Purdue's favor initially, the video evidence would have obviously been in our favor.

Sucks but that's officiating. They are going to make mistakes.

I just watch the replay 20 times in a row and not one time was the ball off of a Purdue player. Absolute screw job, but it has been standard procedure against Purdue for the 35 plus years I have been watching them.

Remember that Penn state game a couple of years back in the Hummel/Moore era? Remember that obvious out of bounds from a Purdue player that was called in our favor, we won the game as a result.

It sucks but bad calls do happen. We lost that game FAR before that call was made anyways.

Bad calls do happen, but when there is an absolutely conclusive replay to reverse it, then it's either corruption or complete incompetence. I believe it was the former in this case and every non Purdue fan I showed the replay to today agreed with me.

Regarding the pantheon of bad calls in Purdue basketball history, one (among many) that stands out in my mind is the non-call against Panama Myers when he mugged Tony Jones to strip the ball at crunch time in the 1990 NCAA second-round game against Texas in the Hoosier Dome. A one-point loss that should not have happened (even though the Boilers missed the front end of three one-and-ones down the stretch).

Pretty obvious. There was a similar call I just saw in the Duke Louisville game. It was reversed in Duke's favor with less or certainly no more, conclusive evidence than the replay in our game.

I seen the exact some call in that game, and that was my exact response, not more evidence than here but they reversed. Garbage.

Were you watching it off your laptop with a bunch of high wattage court lights blasting down on your bald spot? If so, then I can maybe understand how you came to the same "inconclusive, so we can't overturn the original call" result as the officials.

For the rest of us on HD (or UHD) giant flat screens with DVRs for frame by frame replays, it wasn't inconclusive at all. It's time for the B1G to put a replay official in Chicago (or wherever) with a 70" UHD and immediate access to all camera angles. There's no excuse for every viewer at home to have a better replay view than the refs (re)considering the call.

Preach it brother! Couldn't agree more. You see two or three refs squinting over a screen the size of my ipad and I just shake my head. All the money the conference and the NCAA make off of college b-ball you would think they could afford better technology.
