What is the next most important thing we need if we were to add only 1. A Stretch-3 or a ball handler?

Kennard Davis from SIU come on down! After that maybe bring in a lower level PG that can spell Smith and maybe play alongside him for 10-15 minutes a night. We’ll see if anyone else leaves, if Burgess were to leave probably should bring in another big.

I think Purdue is in great shape, hopefully the reason Colvin left is because Benter has been pretty good in practice. Purdue is loaded at the guard, 4 and 5 positions, probably only need is a stretch 3 with length. You look around the Big rosters and there are so many teams with ZERO bigs, and a lot of the good ones in the portal have committed already.

Agree. I wanted a starter quality guy. Coach certainly delivered in spades. Whether a 4 or 5 he provides the rebounding help needed.

Biggest need is to have the NIL team work hard with staff reaching out to add more money to the till as it is going to be costly to keep Smith and TKR.

I think we have 2 dead eye shooters in Harris, Cox(when on) and hopefully now Benter. The ball handling of Cox an Harris were good enough if Smith gets pressed. Heide provides length & occasionally shooting at the 3 when needed. Need to keep those guys in tow.

A six eight forward who can get his own shot and also hit from outside. Vince Edward's type. Does not have to be someone that good, but someone who can come off the bench and contribute offensively and hold his own on D.

The old school in me hopes for a Maurice Lucas type 4. A tough intimidating presence on the floor, that can dominate the boards and can hit a mid range jumper.

So either DJ, TKR or Cluff will be our interchangeable 4/5 guys. Think we are good there.

A multi dimensional forward, preferably athletic, that can drive is the only thing we are missing in my opinion. Hit an open 3, can beat his man on the dribble, and can guard the 3/4 effectively. Basically another Heide type that can get downhill under coverage for when he gets cold or an opposing team is pushing the 3 point line.

Maybe Heide is that guy.

all this to say, Purdue BB will be exciting next year! And, hopefully, our Football will improve and carry us over the summer and fall until BB returns.

Tae Davis could be a consideration… I also was told that Kaleb Banks off of Tulane listed Purdue in his top 3 on twitter. I can’t confirm cause I don’t have X.

I would think that Painter made sure that Smith and TKR were taken care of before Cluff was promised whatever he was.

A bit of smoke around this…it IS April fools tho and it is from burner accounts…but it’d be awesome to have him
