Simply unbelievable.
Towards the final minutes Galloway is driving down the lane and on two occasions clearly takes his off arm out and pushes off. My eye sight is not that good in the gym and hoped that things wouldn't be so bad on TV, but they were. Now I was unaware after Rice's pass/shot hybrid that clearly shows his hands on the side of the ball as both hands push the ball that Ballo went after Rice...and then to not get in the handshake line...where was Goode since he was so effective to get Woody in the handshake line in the Maryland game?

Now Ballo was mad and Woody said later that he couldn't stop Rice even though he could and Goode I think it was threw the ball inbounds to Rice. Purdue was not up on them and Galloway was about the same distance vertically, but more to the side and Goode chose to throw it to Myles who was rushing down the court for his hybrid pass/shot move. Many critics are mad at Rice, but was he all to blame? Under the same scenario wouldn't Purdue make sure it got to Braden? Obviously the roles are more clear for Purdue than IU and some of that is just how good Braden is....but if Braden was not in the game...I'm guessing they look to CJ if possible.

Give IU credit for playing very hard and testing how far they could go with the refs. They were very good and even had some three balls go in that hadn't in the past. Next game will be interesting as they will try to make it a very physical game rather than a skill game and how the refs control the game. By the same token Purdue could try to replicate their physicality early and could get called if the refs set the tone early. IU has talent and not sure that game wasn't their best and winning at Bloomington will be another battle. IU and Purdue spend a lot of money (especially IU) to have talented players playing at a high level...both deserve better officials than we saw at Mackey

Struggles have definitely been more pronounced on the road but in the five games since Nebraska, Purdue has only shot above 33% once (0.375 vs UM). We've shot a combined 5-25 in two road games and 14-46 in three home games. Going to need to shoot better at home and on the road in order to make a real run.

I look for both teams to try to shore up their areas of weakness. I think they still try to cover the three ball and use their taller perimeter players to drive the ball. I think Purdue rebounds better and works more on forcing the ball to the sideline...and IU could return to their normal shooting?

I'm not asking you to do extra work, but it would be interesting if Fletch and/or Braden contribute heavily to those numbers or if it is similar for all. It would be great to see Cam and Myles hit since they are left open more than Braden and Fletch. Giccari is doing better and CJ can hit them.

We've learned the bi-coastal travel over a very few days is taxing for college age players. Imagine the toll that is taking on older ref's legs and stamina. The same crew did a west coast game, ours, and followed on the east coast in a three day stretch.

I don't think it drew my attention because he's generally played well in other facets and his worst shooting game from deep, 0 of 4 against Michigan, didn't matter. Outside of that game he was 1 of 3 twice, 0 of 3 once and 0 of 2 once. Over the five games, only Fletch missed more threes, but Fletch also made seven more than Braden, totaling 9 of 23 for 0.391. Outside of Fletch, only Gicarri at 3 of 7, and Raleigh at 2 of 4, shot above 20%.

Cam is 1 for 6, Myles is 1 for 11, and CJ is 1 of 5. Pretty rough effort overall from three over that period and impressive to come out with a 4-1 record. It's also interesting to note that after averaging close to 25 threes per game in the first six Big Ten contests, the team has averaged only around 14 attempts over the last five games. If you pull a 24 attempt Michigan game out of that calculation, the average attempts drops below 12.

That’s not right; shot 40.9 (9/22) against Washington and even 33.3 (3/9)against Ohio St. besides the 37.5% against Michigan…24.1 against Oregon and 15.4% against IU. Have shot 14/46 (30.4%) at home and 16/51 (31.4%) on the road. Still all said and done we have not shot anywhere near the expected potential of the team!

Iowa has nothing to lose at this point. They can get hot from 3, and if that occurs, this could be another disappointing Big Ten loss. Just win baby.

Some of these teams have at least two six five guards who they send at Braden. You will see him have a momentary open look but the big guard makes up some territory and the shot is altered a bit. Or he passes the ball. He makes it up elsewhere with drives and his patenting pull up.

I have been watching Flory as much as possible since my son and I went to so many of his HS games. He has become impossible to post up. Blocks most everything. If Purdue had his athleticism on the baseline, they would be nearly impossible to beat.
