Where is that poster now who said Purdue should schedule tough non-conference opponents because it’s better to look good in a loss to a good team than it is to whip up on a cream puff?

Is there any Purdue fan that is happy from the past 2 weeks?

Take a look at Illinois and Indiana. Their fans are happy and they will both probably go to a minor bowl game.

Purdue has a lot of tough conference games. We didn’t really need to schedule tough non conference games against tough opponents. What we needed were cream puffs. There are plenty of division 1 cream puffs available. Surely the MAC has a cream puff team we could play.

Logic says, when given a choice, if you can’t beat a team, don’t schedule them!

We're one of those cream puffs.

I can’t think of an FBS team we could schedule that we would beat right now.

I’m right here.

Another shortsighted post where wole overlooks facts and logic to create a new thread to attack people who don’t agree with his opinion.

If this is an argument about Notre dame on the schedule, that was a healthy debate mostly on preference on beinga barrier to getting to 6 wins and a bowl.

What is short sighted is to get to a bowl game you have to win 6 games. In the last decade a handful of teams got through with 5 based on Apr but the assumption should be you need 6 to bowl.

To get to 6 wins in the big ten you HAVE to work at least THREE big ten games. If you cannot beat Oregon state you will not win three big ten games, plain an simple. This team is not capable of winning five games on their schedule where you will ever look back and ask why we scheduled Oregon state.

Illinois? They have 2 P5 teams on their schedule, Virginia and Kansas. If you had asked me at the beginning of the year which of the three we should beat I would say Oregon state. For the record Kansas is rated well ahead of Oregon state in the computer ratings.

Three cupcakes usually means an FCS and 2 FBS non-P5 wins (usually a MAC team and maybe a CUSA). There are 21 nonP5 teams rated ahead of us including 3 MAC although there should be more (northern Illinois, Ohio, Wmu, EMU, and Buffalo are just behind us but our team yesterday loses to all of them. we wouldn’t beat any of those teams.

I’d rather lose at Oregon state in prime time than lose to Eastern Michigan at home at noon.

Like I said, you don’t sound very HAPPY! All you want to do is be defensive and argumentative!

If Purdue had scheduled 3 cream puffs like Illinois and IU do, everyone here would be happy and talking about a possible bowl game.

Take a walk down to the IU board. There’s a lot of happy people there today!

Take a look at our forum. Everybody wants to fire the coach and throw insults at each other. That’s what losing does!

We need more wins against cream puffs than losses against good teams.

Idea. Why don't we just hire a competent coach that wants to coach in a legit P5 Conference and play whoever is on the schedule.......... Good God!
