Noah Dickerson...

that would be nice, but I doubt the kid completely opens his recruitment to a school that he was previously not being recruited by. It's possible, I guess, but highly unlikely.

We are in a much better position than when he probably committed to Fla. Any PF that comes to Purdue with AJ and Haas, have the potential to be dominate.

As he is a 2015 it is possible for him to need to look elsewhere, as a lot of offers dry up as schools have no more room. But most of these youth do not open recruitment back up particularly this late in the game, UNLESS they have a pretty great idea about what they are already planning to do/go. Purdue however is basically full too schollie wise in all reality, as Purdue will wait on CS until Purdue knows that spot is for sure not/or is taken.

Here's his offer list (you can minus FL and GEO)

No school on this list looks insurmountable to me.

I think we could be a great possibility if this kid wants to give us a look.

He is from GA tho, so that may be a factor RE region of the country where he wants to play.

Why would you wait on CS if you had a top 50 kid at the same position. I'd take him over CS if he were ready to commit and CS isn't.

If Swanigan goes elsewhere, there's still a few good grad transfer PF's available as well. They were all starters this past season. James White (approx. 6'8 210) of Arkansas-Little Rock is probably my favorite of the ones available, because he looks very athletic from what little I've found of him online. Alonzo Nelson-Ododa (approx. 6'9 220) of Richmond and Chris Olivier (approx. 6'8 240) of Eastern Illinois are the other two I've seen listed that look promising.

I just think the kid knows where he is going. Most that decommit at this late stage do. While I would be fine with this kid you are referencing, I would be surprised if Painter gives him a look as he is ALL in on CS and would be out of his past character to look elsewhere in the meanwhile. Now if he does start looking elsewhere, that signals CS is gone.

Nelson-Odada is the only one I've seen and he is not Big Ten material, IMO.

It's not much, but I also take these as positive signs.
Has to be. If Cal knew 100% that they were going to get CS, they would not have inquired about Dickerson within the last few days. This tells me they are as unsure as Purdue. I also think if he wanted to go to UK, he would have committed there already. The other thing that still give me hope for Purdue is that Person was not offered. This tells me we are in very good shape with either Simpson or Swanigan, either of which I would be happy to get. I do wish Purdue was on that list for Dickerson, but the fact that we have not contacted him may also be a good sign. I do hate to see CMP put all of his eggs in one basket, as that has burned him before.

Career stats: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/56435/alonzo-nelson-ododa

He averaged 5.1 RPG, 1.7 BPG, 6.6 PPG, and shot 81% (55-68) on his FT's for an A-10 team that went 21-14 and played in the NIT. He's not a "stud" but if CMP wants another guy in the frontcourt (in the Swanigan no-go scenario) that can rebound, defend, and make his FT's, he's a good candidate.

He could play on a lot of B1G teams. There have been many frontcourt players (on full rides) over the years that have played or are currently playing on B1G teams that were/are not as good as Ododa.

I hear you and I am more optimistic now than I have been, but the way I see it, it's really hard to know what is going on in this recruitment. We just need to wait and see how it plays out.
