This board has been pretty active the last few days.

But there's a complete difference in people wanting Painter fired, which I've actually seen posted vs a feeling of "no confidence" in him to get anything done in March.

There's no question that Painter is a good coach, but in the NCAA tournament, "good coaches" over the long haul get bested by "great coaches". Not news obviously.

The underlying emotion that the majority of the fan base feels is summed up in two words with our basketball program's performance in March.

No confidence.

We've been there 8 times under him. 8 times. And we've seen the capability. He's got a ceiling and the sample data shows he panics under pressure. Some just aren't made for the bright lights and that's okay. That's not an attack on his character. He's a good man. This is a realization of his skill (or lack thereof) coaching basketball in March.

If 8 years isn't a good enough sample size, then you're not critically thinking. You have more an agenda to defend Painter than actually objectively looking at results based on a large sample size of 11 years, and 8 years in the tournament.

If you want to win 22 games a year. Painter is your man.

If you want to go to a final four, you know he's NOT your man.

That's all there is to it, really.
