Yeah, that's my take, as well. The other comparison I've been thinking about is Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech (although Beamer had a history with Virginia Tech as a player).
Everybody has said that Purdue could not win a National Championship in football. Maybe I am being foolish, but I really think that if Brohm stays for a while it is a real possibility.
