Or as the video showed, he is adept at posting up players as well. Next season, CMP could arguably have a lineup of:He is going to be a matchup nightmare. If they try and guard him with somebody bigger, he is going to blow past them. If they go with somebody small and quick, he will just shoot over them. Can't wait!
Nice comparison. Do it all player from point through stretch four. Can likely defend college two through stretch four. Pairs beautifully with Carsen.I see a lot of Jalen Rose in his game.
agree with where your headed although I see some differences:Or as the video showed, he is adept at posting up players as well. Next season, CMP could arguably have a lineup of:
PJT
Carsen Edwards
Nojel Eastern
Vince Edwards
Eden Ewing
In this lineup, you have two players that would be seniors in PJT and Vince that can control the tempo while also having Carsen who will receive important minutes (and has already shown good maturity for a freshman guard). Pairing Nojel in this manner would force a team to really stretch who to guard. In this manner, not a lot of teams are going to be able to guard two players 6'6 and 6'8 with the skill sets that Eastern and Vince have (pretty similar actually from the video). Who ever is given the smaller defender will be able to slide in to the post and replace Ewing who has shown an ability to play on the wing when needed. If the players attempt to switch on ball or off ball screens, you can easily look for Carsen on the wing for a mis-match or Vince/Nojel in a similar manner on the wing or post.

The 2018 class will have to provide the depth, or maybe a starter if we are lucky.
J. Taylor.........just needs a chance
IMO - he's had some chances. He hasn't made the most of them. Strikes me as a player that is very raw that could be a contributor his senior year. I'm a little surprised he hasn't transferred to a smaller school.J. Taylor.........just needs a chance

He was never going to beat out Hammons, Swannigan, Hass, or Vince at the 4/5 last year. His only chance at playing last year was an injury and that thankfully didn't happen. If he was healthy this year he would be playing important minutes and would drastically enhance the teams ability to withstand fowl trouble at the 5. I wouldn't expect him to drop flawlessly into the lineup and dominate considering how much he has missed due to injury, but he absolutely has the talent and athleticism to contribute to this team.IMO - he's had some chances. From whom?Disagree. If Taylor were healthy, he would be playing significant minutes this year.
He would spell Haas at center and Swanigan at the 4. Maybe play a little for VE. What you see right now is a revised substitution pattern. Painter is really good at keeping his players fresh and rotated. I am sure he would love to have another big in his rotation that could put in 10-15 minutes. You don't see the gap in today's team because it is similar to pulling your fist out of a bucket of water, and then looking for the hole left behind. From whom?

I have learned by watching this years recruiting that we fans just do not know enough about what is really happening to have a clue. I therefore will sit back and enjoy the ride. No offense to those trying to figure it out. That's part of the fun.Looking at the 2018 offers, there aren't a lot of high caliber top 100 guys we are in play for. Phinisee the 5'11 pg and two 150-200 type centers. I like Phinisee, but I would rather focus on Isiah Thompson, 2019. If for some reason we land Langford (2 overall and has Purdue in his top ten), we immediately become a title contender. There is probably a late riser that will end up in the top 150 that Painter might be able to pick up, but thereby isn't near the talent of the potential 2017 class. I imagine he will get three seniors and then fill needs with a transfer or two. I would like to see a strong 2019 class. Just need 1-2 big time contributors from 2018 and it shouldn't have to be immediate.
