Nelson

Good intel that Nelson will recommit to the Boilers within the next few days. He'll be a potential HS All-American and had 28-29 tackles in one game for Wayne last year.

Heard he's a freak athlete.
need help on this one Nelson ? sorry late night

thanx, he was a 2 star that committed to us then went committed to S. Car ? got jacked up to 3 star
According to my sources he is one of the best athletes his brother has ever trained....Jessie Bates included.

He said he was Mr. Football last year at his position.

Honestly, he showed me the text Kimar sent him with this information. I understand things can change and are very fluid, but it favors us with a pretty solid recruit.

I'm all in

This high school recruiting you speak of, I remember such a thing from my youth. I thought it was mythical as everyone goes to the Portal to get buy their players. It would be refreshing to see the new coach bring on those quality under the radar players and develop them into a winning culture at Purdue (similar to what CMP has done for basketball).

Except no one has the patience for the 3-4 years minimum that would take.

Feel like development and keeping 3-4-5 year players around (I don’t know how you actually do that) can be the key to success for some “lesser” teams like a Purdue. Develop guys who play together and have years of experience together with a good coach and system and you can get them to play above their individual talent levels.

Jesus y'all are fixated on Walters. Dudes gone, move on.
The problem with moving on is the lack of any information on what's happening now. How much better will it be during Spring practice? Will we mushrooms still be kept in the dark? Will we have to wait until the first or third Fall games to see what we're fielding?

It's hard looking ahead when unless you're somehow associated with the program that you might know some of what's happening behind closed doors. Then we can discuss real matters. Otherwise, we will have Brohm and Walters brought up ad infinitum.

No it's easy.
There's a new guy and staff with new players.
No one knows how it's going to work out and no reports about what's happening now will reveal anything about what actually happens next season.

People discussing prior coaches just want to continue Internet battles.

Rather than thinking about Walter’s or his staff, I focus on the players and the team and the schedule. The schedule is easier. A lot of key players left. A lot of key recruits decommited and went elsewhere. Odom brought with him many coaches and many new players. I ask are the new players as good as the players that left? I ask what positions have we actually improved? What positions are now weaker? I believe our linebacking and running backs have improved . Qb looks improved. Db , ol, dl, wr appear to have worsened. I then look at the teams we will be playing. Have they improved? Or have they worsened. And then I predict how we will do. I really don’t recall the names of any assistant coach. Do we really need to know their names? I don’t really recall the names of half of the players that left. A lot of them elected to join more successful programs. I wish them well.

People here talk about Hazell and Walters and Brohm too much. You give each coach too much credit for success and too much blame for failure. I blame Walters for bringing Card to Purdue. But ultimately our success on the field was attributed to the mistakes and accomplishments of our team and its players.
