Let's clarify... we beat an 8 as a 9 beat a 4 as a 5 and beat #7 St Mary as a 10. A B1G 10 over a mid-major 7 is our greatest upset when considering seed discrepancy.

So the 2 roads to NCAA glory are being a top seed (3 is the best we've been in 12 years of Painter, got smoked by 20 against 11 seed VCU) or pulling off upsets (our greatest upset over 7th seeded St Mary). So...
