My starting 5 after yesterday...

It simply amazes me that people would continue to start Swanigan just based an talent and perception. I'd rather win games. That means if I were the coach and I believed that my best unit has Edwards at the 4 and Swanigan on the bench, which I do, then that's exactly what I do.

Winning is what gets recruits. If we win with Swanigan being the sixth man for the second half of the season as a sixth man instead of a starter and we finish as a top ten team, that is better for recruiting than continuing to start him in spite of some serious deficiencies that cost us some games??

Also, bringing Swanigan in off the bench does not mean that he can't continue to improve defensively and learn to cut down on his turnovers. It might even accelerate that learning curve. If he does that, I think we'd all see him in our top five but until that happens I'd rather start Edwards at the 4 and move insert one of our shooters (mine would be Mathias right now) into that unit. I really think that maximizes that unit right now.

Couldn't agree more.

Against a team that comes at Purdue with high pressure/that presses the ball and swarms the post, Purdue has proven that the offense with Biggie at the 4 and Vince at the 3 will not win, most of the time.

Biggie is an undersized (height), skilled, below the rim CENTER. I completely understand why playing the 4 is better for his career prospects, but he's far more effective as a 5.
