So I have been texting a little bit with the managers of the Georgia Rivals site and they had a little more information on Todd Monken. First off, they have said, and I quote, "Purdue is taking a hard look at him." the full message was as follows:
As far as how he fits in with Purdue, here is what they had to say:
Jace has some further intel:
Granted, it is A LOT easier to do that when you can recruit talent around a guy like Georgia can. They have an elite defense and an embarrassment of riches at every position. Monken's head coaching record was only 13-25, but he went from 1-11 in year 1 at Southern Miss to 9-5 in year three. This was after taking over an 0-12 team. He also has NFL experience, as he was OC for the Browns before being hired bey Georgia.
To me, I would be cautiously optimistic should he get the job. He is a better potential hire than Hazell (who wouldn't be, really?), but it is far from a guarantee. If you can get him the pieces he can have success. What holds me up is just the amount of sheer, raw talent Georgia has. They, Alabama, and Ohio State can recruit and gather talent at a level no one else in the country can match. Should Monken come to Purdue you're betting he can have success without that same level.
No idea where it stands. They may look and pass. Or they could be very interested. No clue. Just confirmed they are taking a hard look at him.

I can't say that the recruiting part is encouraging, as Purdue needs someone who is going to sell the program. Jeff Brohm was a significantly better recruiter than the late era Joe Tiller, Danny Hope, or Darrell Hazell, and his best classes barely cracked the top 25. He also had a lot of good luck with walk-ons when you look at the Thienemans, Aidan O'Connell, Devin Mockobee, etc. Monken could be great at coaching them up, but you still need at least a good base level to start.Loves to throw first. To everyone. Wrs, TEs, Rbs. Very creative at coming up with explosive plays. Hilarious guy. Salty language. He'd be a good fit except he's mediocre at recruiting. Doesn't like it.

I like that he has had success with Stetson Bennett IV, who was also a walk-on like AOC. In fact, he beat out AOC for the Burlsworth Award this year for the nation's best player who began as a walk-on.Georgia has been top 10 in yards per pass attempt the last two years.
For context, Purdue was t-84th this year and t-39th last year.
He’s had to adjust what he likes to do under Kirby Smart. Bc Kirby is one of those old dudes who likes the run the ball a lot.
