If you have saved to pay for a kids education and then don't have to because of scholarship...It's not that unusual in Carmel.

People like to look for things that aren't there. The THC level in weed nowadays is exceptionally potent and ironically enough there was a bit on the radio about this very thing this morning here in the fort. There are posters here and on hammerandrails insisting that Cline was taking something stronger than weed.
Whatever happened to innocent till proven guilty? Its weed, nothing else, move on.
The stuff nowadays is so potent. The weed that we smoke in college 20 years ago is nothing compared to the stuff nowadays. The stuff nowadays just blows your head off. I stopped smoking dope because the extreme potency just didn't make any sense to me. Before, you get high, you wax philosophical, you had new thoughts, original thoughts. I felt it actually improved me as a person. Now, its just BOOM, and you are out of it.....it diminishes you.
Not anti-weed, but everything in moderation also applies to weed
I would be seriously watchful of my kids when they start experimenting with drugs (as most kids do).
Big Dog drove a Cherokee with a stereo system worth more than the vehicle when I was at Purdue.
He was from "The Region"....just sayin.
Cline from Carmel...no red flags there.
I take exception to the phrase "not that serious". Getting caught in your apartment with some weed, that's not serious. Being passed out in a running car with the foot on the accelerator is serious. Big, big difference.A car someone is driving shouldn't be a red flag per se for anything. First off, a 2016 Toyota Corrolla brand new isn't some fancy car, but it costs more than buying a 2005 Lexus. Secondly, people spending priorities vary. Many people that have tattoos - tattoos are NOT cheap. But if someone that isn't wealthy wants to save up and spend their money on that, so be it. A sound system is typically a pretty cool thing, particularly back in the day, for a younger person to have in their car. Just because Glenn Robinson grew up where he grew up doesn't mean they can't have a nice thing.
Sorry, rant. But this thread is ridiculous. It was not a good situation, it should be a serious wake up call for him, but there's not evidence of anything more than what we know. The notion of kicking someone off the team for getting high at home is a bit much. Wreckless situation, but not that serious. Don't want to say it's ok cause everyone does it, but if you think Cline (and Smotherman) are the only basketball players that smoke weed, you're crazy.

Look, I'm 50 so far be it for me to try and be the moral compass of 20 somethings. But as soon as you involve a motor vehicle, it becomes a serious situation. Period.
This. If people were held to what they might of done, all of us would be in prison.I'm saying the actual charges are not that serious, thus kicking someone off the team for something that "potentially" could be serious is not warranted.
I said it was wreckless. But if you start kicking people off teams based on things that could be dangerous - that's a lot of gray area there.
Um I grew up in same city as Big Dog......and we all know why he had the car he did and stereo system......A car someone is driving shouldn't be a red flag per se for anything. If that's what you meant then I can see your point. That isn't how I took it. You seemed to be dismissing his actions as not serious.I'm saying the actual charges are not that serious, thus kicking someone off the team for something that "potentially" could be serious is not warranted.

I don't think he should be dismissed from the team and frankly, I don't see many calling for that. What I want recognized is that what he did is not the same as "someone getting caught smoking weed at home". What he did is much more serious than that.
Glenn's family wasn't broke. His step-father was a worker in the mills.Big Dog drove a Cherokee with a stereo system worth more than the vehicle when I was at Purdue.
He was from "The Region"....just sayin.
Cline from Carmel...no red flags there.
Yes....my father worked at the mills for the railroad pulling the steel out.Glenn's family wasn't broke. His step-father was a worker in the mills.
Yea, I got that."at home" was in reference to him being in Hamilton County, not at Purdue University.
Why is this just coming out?
Either Cline didn't inform Painter of his citation until recently OR Painter didn't want the news to come out about Cline so shortly after the news of Smotherman's citation (negative press), so he sat on the info. until the last possible day. Those would be my two most likely theories.
We've talked about Big Dog's SUV on here before. I was the same grade in school and I knew the girl who's dad was the dealer where the SUV was leased. It wasn't in the region...Yes....my father worked at the mills for the railroad pulling the steel out.
Why are people reading my post wrong and commenting negatively?
Nothing wrong with GRobs car or Clines.....was just pointing out Big Dog drove a nice car too and people are taking it negative?
I am saying no big deal what they drive.....

Correct....Big Dog is from The Region.....didn't say his car was....I am from The Region. We've talked about Big Dog's SUV on here before. I was the same grade in school and I knew the girl who's dad was the dealer where the SUV was leased. It wasn't in the region...
Ooooh I imagine that didn't sit well eitherJeff Washburn reports from a reliable source that Ryan kept it from Painter until recently. Enjoy the end of the bench Ryan.
We probably shared a few drinks at Stacks together....Correct....Big Dog is from The Region.....didn't say his car was....I am from The Region.
I also was at Purdue when GRob was (actually 89 thru 94) and had him in a few classes when he showed up.
Let me guess Christine Raisor? I knew her well......
You go to IU if you want the best chance of keeping it quiet in this stateYou're a scholarship player at a major state school. You are arrested in said state. How the hell do you think you are going to keep that a secret?? Seems pretty naive/stupid to me.
Not really. Simply because they get the punishment they should at Purdue and swept under the rug at IU.this kind of takes the fun out of making fun of the iu programs with all the drug problems. Glass houses.....

Yep swept under the rug at IU and is part of a degree program at MSU.Not really. Simply because they get the punishment they should at Purdue and swept under the rug at IU.

Or dead.This. If people were held to what they might of done, all of us would be in prison.
Swept under the rug at IU? That's hilarious. Cline kept it a secret for weeks, and even now it's not a big story. It would have been front page of the Star and lead story of the news had it been an IU player.Yep swept under the rug at IU and is part of a degree program at MSU.

People often store weed in old pill bottles...and this story says he had weed in the pill bottleI too am more concerned about the prescription bottle. Hope this was a 1 time incident that he happened to get caught rather than a pattern of his normal behavior.
Christine Raisor = Audi R8 ....since this is all about what people drive.Correct....Big Dog is from The Region.....didn't say his car was....I am from The Region.

That's been covered by several others already.People often store weed in old pill bottles...and this story says he had weed in the pill bottle
