Don't see us dancing to far , first team that doubles down on BS and takes him out will end our dancing days. Because everywhere else there is uncertainty and a lack of under performing numbers , we are suppose to be a high percentage three team and just there. Love our guys /team but to much BS and lack there after.

I don't know. The reemergence of Heide and Colvin will help. We gotta make teams that can't shoot, shoot the ball. iu and msu can't shoot, and we let them live at the rim. That has to be fixed. Getting VCU vibes from those games.

Sure the team is beatable. Just not enough talent in the top 7 guys. But just enjoy Smith while he's here. Generational player. Enjoy the ride.

What re-emergence??

Although they are ok (deep) bench guys, Heide in particular won't fight for rebounding position, relying on jumping ability too much....and both sometimes fail at lane protection and help D. Wildly inconsistent offensively imo.

Cam is an undersized 4 that's has been put in a bad position.

I think if we had him BS, Fletch, Cam & Myles, TRK and DJ. This team probably wins the B1G. Yes, we need Cam and Myles to be more aggressive. I think that's the issue when playing small. They are not attacking the lane/rim enough to get contact. Don't hover around the arc waiting for BS to get you an open 3.....all the time. MOVE!

Any team playing Heide and Colvin significant minutes isn't doing anything. Great deep bench guys....that is it.

I am hoping DJ and a player we gain in the off season are 2 new starters that change us to a FF type team.

I probably wouldn't be surprised if we see multiple transfer-out guys. I could see Berg, Cam and possibly another we might not expect. If that's the case. There will be plenty of spots to fill while logging good minutes.

Agree, and if it can’t be done with man and packing the middle then even though historically painter hasn’t run zones it could be time to give it a whirl against a poor shooting team that is attacking the paint relentlessly.

Yeah, those are 2 games where I think having a zone in your bag, if even for just a few possessions, would have been helpful in getting them out of their offensive rhythm.

I thought it interesting that Heide and Colvin don’t get to the line. In their last 18 games:

Heide has shot 11 free throws in 319 minutes of play.

Colvin has shot 7 free throws in 272 minutes of play.

Those stats seem ridiculously low for getting to the line. That has to change for these guys to be productive in winning some tough games.

I believe they are referring to the fact that Myles is 6/15 and Cam is 4/9 from 3 during this 4 game losing streak. This streak is not due to them not doing enough.

In reference to cam rebounding, he gets called for over the back when he fights for position to rebound (according to the refs at MSU) and flat jumps over a guy who doesn’t box him out 😂 .

As far as Myles, he was a top 3 performer Sunday and has been outplaying gicarri the last 4.

I’d say if those two can continue to shoot it at 40% from 3, Myles continues to defend and rebound and cam wakes up a bit and get aggressive on rebounding, it helps take pressure off the big 3 for the tourney.

With that said, the big 3 need to play better. I think they’re exhausted. TKR needs to just set a screen and be set for 5 whole seconds ( 😂 apparently) before Braden can use it. fletch just needs to let it fly if he gets any kind of room. No one and I mean NO one will be mad at one of the best 3 pt shooters in the country shooting an extra 5-7 shots a game. Smith needs to go back to playing his game and trusting his instincts. He seems to be thinking too much. He’s really good when he just goes and plays.

Hope with the extra rest over the next few weeks, we can get back to it.

Hope they improve. At their current abilities, at best deep bench guys imo.

You point out a real problem with the 3/4 with those two. When you don't drive the lane, you aren't getting fouled. Hope CMP finds some guys that can not only drive the lane but consistently score @ the 3/4.

Well, if you’re told not drive/don’t get very many opportunities to drive, you’re not going to get a lot of fouls called on you to go to the line.

Pretty sure they’re told to just pass the ball to the big 3 and get out the way
