Play small, lose Big

No, and yes, this team has been lost on defense. You just can't say one particular person on this team is really great at defense.

I'm not quite sure what you guys are watching besides our tails getting kicked-in lately, but keep stating Myles is a good/great defender.
Myles is one of our better defenders, as is Harris and Cox. Smith is a good “free safety” and fletch can be in good helpside/team defense. What we aren’t good at, as a team, is on ball defense. I’d rank it as CJ, Myles/Harris, Smith and then Loyer. If we aren’t able to be good on ball defenders, we need (maybe multiple) a rim protector behind like we have had in Haarms, (kinda Tre) and Edey—but we don’t. I think Paint was betting on DJ kinda doing that.

The 1-4 (mainly the 1-3) have been getting killed during our losing streak. You have been watching right? I mean such great defense in the Wisky game to give up 72 from the 1-3 positions.....seriously!!???
The whole damn team has been getting killed. Rotations and assignments have not been great. Hopefully with some rest and reassessment, we can be better going into the tourney.

So you agree that on-ball defense, rotating, assignments match-up zone or dirty/flex zone are horrible or not great.

I just can't say someone is good at something when they are just 'ok'. Just because they are comparing them to other bad defensive players on the team that doesn't make them good. I think this team as a group are just horrible at defense right now and it's showing.

I would grind every single player to learn the meaning of defense. If they play lazy, sit their butts on the bench. I mean we are losing games regardless and players are still making the same mistakes. Something isn't registering.

Myles is also one of our best rebounders too

I don't consider playing small to ever be a problem in college basketball. Purdue fans got used to having 7-3 dudes playing center. You can win with TKR and Furst at 6-9/6-10. But not if Braden Smith plays like Gabe Cupps.

DJ will develop into a more stretch 5. He has a nice shot from the outside along with his rim protection abilities. I think will be ok, bud.
