Little wild, but fun to watch. Hurley cost UConn with a tech in OT, but that was also a very questionable foul called on McNeely. UConn not nearly as good as last year, especially in backcourt. Memphis can get hot fast from 3 and get to the hole. Purdue would have to bring and execute their Alabama game plan to knock either one off if worlds collide in March.

Purdue drops 6/7 spots in polls losing to the #15 ranked team on their home court. UConn and their AHat coach will drop only 1 or 2 spots at the most losing to an unranked team on a neutral court.

I don't think it was questionable. He made significant contact to the upper back of the Memphis player before getting the ball. UConn was in foul trouble all game, 3 guys fouling out. They also got lucky when Dain Dainja countered Samson's technical foul with one of his own.

Hurley is such an ass. The "bench" got a T earlier in the game too but because it wasn't on him technically (see what I did there?) he wasn't ejected.

Not that I'm defending it, but they will play 2 more good games this week, guessing Colorado and Iowa State. So it's a different thing than us losing by 15+ and beating Marshall.

I hear you, but beating a Colorado team would not be much better than beating Marshall. 4-0, but no ranking votes. Nonetheless, hopefully we can win our two games this week and climb back up.

I hated seeing those same ones being called on Edey when he was just reaching for a rebound against a player smaller than him. Maybe Liam made more contact than what I saw. No debate about Hurely being an ass though- it was fitting that his team fought back to send it in OT and Hurley found a way to kill their edge they had going.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you.

I can't think of a bigger ass of a championship level coach in any sport recently. Zero tact. Zero humility. Not just arguing calls but out on the floor in pointing and shouting matches. Embarrassing himself for no reason.

Memphis bullied their guards all game and took Mahaney completely out of the game by attacking him every chance they could and Mahaney couldn’t handle it and Hurley had to take him out of the game for most of the second half. Hunter (on his third team in 4 years) hit huge 3 after huge 3. Dainja played the best I’ve ever seen him play.

Tbh, I didn’t think McNeeley should have been called for the foul. I agree with Hurley when he said the Memphis player made a half ass play—didn’t even seem to box out McNeely. I understand Hurley was stickin up for his team but not a good time to get a T, allowing Memphis to have 4 FTs…with that said, he was asking for it all game by cursing at the refs and crowd allll game.

Right now, UConn does not look like the UConn we’ve seen the past two years. No elite rim protector and guards aren’t as good. Now, they could get better throughout the year, but right now, they don’t look like a F4 team. BUT, it’s early.

Auburn-Iowa State.
Either team can win, as both look good defensively, tough, fast and very athletic.

But I can see already early in this game, hope we don't have to face Iowa State defense ever this season. Auburn looks tough enough.

Feel like their ceiling could still be the Final 4 but definitely not a natty. Other than Caraban doing his thing, every other position appears to be a down grade from last year especially at the 5. And they are much younger in the backcourt as well. Could see them losing in the sweet 16 even depending on match ups.

Watching Dayton get 19 pts off of 12 turnovers against UNC in the 1st half and seeing the ultra aggressive offense/defense Memphis played against UCONN, so happy Painter was able to get games against Marq, Texas A&M and Auburn on the schedule. Will really get the team exposed to high levels of aggressiveness that they will face come March. I loved the way Memphis played today. They came to knock the king off the throne with no apologies and accomplished their mission.

This guy is about 1 season away from going full Woody Hayes and punching an opposing player.
I think it's much more likely he gets punched by someone. With that mouth and that face, it's only a matter of time......

He's an ass hat and always has been. The difference is now he's constantly on a national stage showing it. His rolling around on the floor after the call should have gotten him his 1st T and then calling the ref a f.... retard should have been the 2nd.

So, with his logic, because completely different teams won championships, this team, which has done nothing, should get special treatment by the refs. Ok, you're not an entitled jerk at all.

I bet UCONN, that was a over the back foul, he hit the guy pretty good, Hurley is a whiner, great Coach but I can’t stand the guy.
