A win over PSU as a "maybe NCAA clenching" win. Poppycock, Purdue's in. It's a done deal, and the talking heads, plus the reporters here at GBI, IS, J-C, and elsewhere need to stop feeding into the bubble hype.
Indiana, yes, you can safely report they're on the bubble.
Purdue, no. Purdue is clearly, cleanly and surely in. It's time to start reporting as such.
The North Carolina media has been reporting NCSU as "in" for the better part of a month. Yes, that 20-13 NCSU team (with losses to Wofford, BC, Wake, Clemson and pretty much each solid team they played on the road). It's all about perception and "maybe clinching" media lexicon plays into it.
Fact: nobody's in until Sunday at 6p. Yet, Purdue is safely "in."
