Mayer playing in U19 tournament

It looks like Purdue will have 2 players playing in the upcoming U19 tournament. Israel will be participating and Mayer is on their team.

Israel considered pulling out but decided it was safe to travel so they are going to travel to Switzerland to play in the FIBA U 19 championship

Crazy times. I’m sure if they really wanted to get their Israeli junior national team out they’d find a way. I just hope they stay safe.

Not sure what the relationships are with adjoining countries, but seemingly they could fly out from a different country. Im guessing they got it figured out one way or the other as I'm sure they're not the only ones needing to get out of or in Israel.

Hey I’m just responding to your post that says the men’s basketball team traveling to Switzerland is more at risk than the Israel team… you made the comment and it was nonsensical and I’m calling you out for it.

Not sure what the relationships are with adjoining countries, but seemingly they could fly out from a different country. Im guessing they got it figured out one way or the other as I'm sure they're not the only ones needing to get out of or in Israel.

I mean only real options would be Jordan or Egypt or take a boat into the Med perhaps. I'm sure it will eventually work out but there's a non zero chance he's stuck there if things really heat up. Low but non zero.

I worry we may not see Mayer this coming year at Purdue, due to military obligations or visa issues. I am worrying about from a Purdue standpoint and I know that is selfish, but think the concern is real.
