I don't think our book put out things like this last year, but today they released a handful of early season tournament odds.

Kansas +200
Purdue +385
Marquette +500
Tennessee +600
Gonzaga +650
UCLA +1400
Syracuse +3500

Tennessee has shot up the board on this of late. Now 2nd favorite at +280. Purdue unchanged.

Purdue has a tough path because they have by far the toughest first round opponent of any of the top four teams. For Purdue to win this tournament, they will very likely have to beat three teams currently ranked in the top 11.

I think there is a decent chance G wins and Purdue fan base has its first freak out of the season.

We are very good, but #2??. Not there yet imo. Might still be good enough to beat G, but I think they absolutely will be primed & amped up big time for us since we won last year.

Then if that happens.....Purdue wins out on the other side of bracket.

In any case the chance of getting through the bracket unscathed would surprise me.

Good news for Purdue, even with a loss against Gonzaga we still will likely play at least 2 tourney teams in the event. Playing Marquette in the loser bracket is still a hell of a good game to get in your noncon

Hope we can compete and hit outside shots. Looking forward to seeing how our guard and wing play match up to these teams…although they looked good last year vs Gonzaga and Duke. I want to see a matchup vs KU…but it’s going to be real tough to get there….gonna be some good games!

I think we get past Gonzaga, but I'm not so sure about Tennessee. I wanna play Kansas though so we can see how we measure up against three top 11 teams in three consecutive nights. That will tell us what we are made of.

Better yet, three dominant teams that play three different styles of basketball. I want to see how our depth and personnel matches up, how we react and how developed our off season conditioning is.

It’d be pretty cool for some of next year’s recruits to see this tournament in person but it being in Hawaii I’d say it’s not likely.

A friend of mine that’s a Uk fan just told me it’s a big g longshot that we could beat both Gonzaga and TN and we won’t get to a Kansas game . I did remind him about PK85 last year! Boiler up!

People making a lot of assumptions about how the tourney will go. Even if we play and lose to TN there's a reasonable chance to play KU in 3rd place game.
Yep. Let’s get passed the Zags (not easy) first and then see what we get. Just want to show up and be competitive and have the chance to compete against good competition.
