Louisville/Brohm? What have you heard?

Louisville fan here in peace!

Ok, so Brohm isn't coming and Satterfield is our guy next year. But we've heard rumors that:

1. Our AD had a deal in place to get Brohm to come to Louisville
2. Our University President said NO
3. Our AD who is usually transparent, made an announcement to keep the coach but no questions.
4. Our AD is now going to FSU

He's a Louisville guy through and through. His family wants him home. We've had so many "insiders" and "local media" claim it was a done deal and he wanted to be home.

My only thought is that you guys have paid him rather nicely. I think he's done wonders here and you all would do whatever it takes to keep him. So have you all heard ANYTHING about thinking he'd leave or maybe just using it as a negotiating tactic? I can't post on the insider boards here, but I would like to know if there was any talk about him possibly leaving?

Because Miami showed you can negotiate with a job that isn't open, but at the same time, you guys never made a counter offer at all and I think it would've been a bidding war.

I don't know the truth or assume to know anything, I just want to know what you guys have heard?
As I understand it, he and the family will be there by Christmas.

Cuz that's where a lot of the family is, and where they go to celebrate Christmas. :)

What a night in Louisville. No AD and now no president.

After seeing Oregon, ND, and Oklahoma lose their coaches to $9-10 million salaries … anything’s possible.

These college coaching salaries are just insanity. Just a tiny part of the bubble that our whole economy is sitting on....but that's a different subject.

FWIW, and I've said this on the Louisville boards, I have not believed any of the recent Brohm to Louisville stuff. There are two stations locally (I listen from afar on IHR) that cover Louisville sports and the hosts on there keep talking about it and it spreads from there. It is very, very good for ratings, as is all controversy. When the Rick Pitino/Tom Jurich stuff was happening and events were happening almost hourly, there were live call in shows 24/7. You could get hammered drunk and then call into 93.9FM or 790AM at 2am and talk live on the radio with other hammered drunks about Rick Pitino and Jurich. Very good for ratings.

Otherwise, great season Purdue, I'm rooting for Brohm to do well wherever he is, and good luck!

Careful Morg, the rumors are always true and no one has an agenda to play by leaking to media personalities!

One thing for sure, the local sports media apparently did NOT like Neeli Thickabooti. Wow. They are celebrating with songs and are acting like a huge weight has been lifted from their shoulders. I had no idea she was this disliked by the Louisville sports media.

Anyway carry on Boiler fans.

Almost makes me think

1 week ago Neeli was pretty well loved. Then a certain RUMOR is placed in the media that Brohm had a deal in place and she blocked it and then she's hated. It's almost like a certain AD put that rumor out there to take heat off himself and put on her?

Our main recruiting guy is now saying it was an assistant that was being fired and Satterfield was never being fired. I started this thread here to just confirm you all heard nothing at all, because if Brohm was even talking you guys would've heard.

Obviously you forgot the way he was treated by the Louisville fans after he started he wasn’t leaving Purdue. I mean calling a bomb threat to his high school he went to? You are crazy
As someone that lives in Louisville, I definitely remember that day. My wife and I have Boilermaker stuff on our cars. I was not sure if anyone would do anything to our cars for a couple of weeks after the incident.

I had been to multiple Fan Days, before COVID of course. We have not had one of those true Fan Days, since then. Coach Brohm recognized me from a prior Fan Day and knew I lived in Louisville. We talked for a while. Just a FYI, Coach Brohm and his wife are big fans of a place called Paul's Fruit Market here in Louisville. There are several here in Louisville. I sent him a fruit and snack basket before from there as a reminder of "home" for him and his family.

I remember bring up that incident at Trinity HS during the Fan Day. You could tell it really had bothered him. His whole facial expression and attitude changed for a couple of minutes. He might have forgotten about it now, but I am not 100% certain that he would go back to UL. Not saying it wouldn't happen, but that burned part of the bridge.

I think there is some confusion

He was talking about Eron Hodges who is part of the football staff in the recruiting department

Dave Lackford is a very good Rivals writer. For Kentucky, Louisville, etc
I thought Lackford worked for Bucknuts now.

All you UofL guys do is speculate. Keep on speculating. Both times UofL fans came on this board and said it was a "done deal" and Brohm was headed to Louisville. Well, it hasn't happened yet.

Why would Brohm want to downgrade to UofL and the ACC after being in the Big Ten and having ample opportunity to win the West?
That rolaid poster most likely was an IU fan. Never seen that poster name on any UofL message board before.

Ya. I meant a guy on the staff. Hodges recruits for Louisville right?
