Line for the Illinois Game!

I see that current line is 18.5, which is probably low considering the way Purdue has been performing. Sure would be nice to see
an upset, which would be a real spirit lifter for the team and fans alike!

I would just be happy if they beat the spread. Nearly 3 TD dog to Illini!

I learned from my fantasy game playing days not to worry about the spread or how many points are scored. The only stat that counts is the win. Only fantasy geeks and losers care about stats.

The line gives you an idea of how the so-called experts see the game. It's true that wins are what counts, and they will be very few this season and seasons to come as long as Walters is HC.

And the only one that counts! Ask anybody at Vandy if they know or cared about what the line or point spread of the Alabama game was, and then come back and reply!
Sure, and if we somehow pull an upset against anyone, then we can reevaluate our coaching staff and players. When we're expected to lose to Illinois (!) by three touchdowns, that's why we're talking about the spread.

I wouldn't be surprised if we are 35-point or more underdogs to OSU, PSU, or Oregon.

Might even get to the point where they refuse to put a number on it. Or maybe that was the old days? chi?
That will be rock bottom.
Don’t want to embarrass anyone.

Shows how bad Walters has done to have the spread that high against his former team. Doesn't look like they have missed a beat with him gone, but we sure have.

FWIW the Featherhead humps on Illinois message boards are salivating at the prospect of finally re-claiming the Cannon on Saturday.

It's ridiculous how Purdue has fallen so far, so fast to the point that even our traditional punching bags are clamoring to play us....

As an Illinois fan, my take is that the game is going to be uncomfortably close for us on Saturday. I think you beat the spread if it is over 15.

I'm pretty sure the fact that they were huge underdogs was part of why it was a big story. But keep on blabbering like you make sense.

I'm at peace with losing to anyone this season. If someone is excited about beating this team, it says more about their program and their expectations than anything.

As for Illinois in particular, whatever they beat us by in football will in no way heal the wounds we inflicted on their fan base in basketball last season.

You haven't watched Purdue this year, have you? 🤣🤣 We've repeatedly quit against teams that in all honestly, are absolutely comparable to Illinois.

I'd like to think Purdue will display a modicum of pride on Saturday, but I've seen no evidence of it this season...

Take good care of the Purdue Cannon.

That's a healthy attitude to have, but beating them repeatedly is SO MUCH fun...

We've wiped both the gridiron and the court with them for years now, and their angst about that is hilarious to read.

What I cannot understand is if Walters was such a defensive genius at Illinois, why hasn't he stepped in and worked some of this magic at Purdue? Surely he's smart enough to know that a defense that has given up a many points as Purdue has, and that this will most likely continue the rest of the season, is in dire need of help, and that as HC he is allowed to help!

Brohm owned the so- called “elite” Illini defense before he quit on Purdue.

The reality has rarely lived up to the hype when it comes to the Featherheads😉

So far, CRW is the poster child for Illinois hubris.
