Leonard Hamilton is retiring, bringing an end to a hugely successful career which included a great run at Miami. Hamilton was an assistant to Joe B. Hall on Kentucky's 1978 national championship staff. Former Hamilton player Luke Loucks has replaced Hamilton at FSU.

Utah did not wait until the end of the regular season to push out Craig Smith. Steve Bartle of KSL Sports, based in Salt Lake City, published a list of candidates. The Utes moved quickly and landed on Alex Jensen, a former Utah player under legendary coach Rick Majerus, who was an NBA assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks.
