The NCAA Transfer Portal has officially opened for the 2023-2024 cycle and all hell has broken loose across college football. Ryan Walters and the Boilermakers are poised to get in on the action in the near future after a busy week of portal offers and upcoming visit.

Boiler Upload's "Weekly Upload" consists of Purdue's transfer portal big board, a trio of official visits set for this weekend and an update on several top targets for the Boilermakers.

A late riser poised to become an addition to 2024 recruiting class:

Purdue has quietly been on the market for additional help at wide receiver in the last couple of months, mostly consisting of 2024 prospects and JUCO pass catchers, to add to the incoming recruiting class.
That need got even bigger early this week as four-star wide receiver Keonde Henry backed off his pledge to the Boilermakers. The highly touted prospect is still considering Purdue, but Cory Patterson was quick to offer a potential replacement if that is not the case.

The Boilermakers offered in-state receiver Donovan Hamilton from Fishers, Indiana, who is among the best players in the state in the class of 2024. Hamilton will take an official visit this weekend and is a guy that I could see committing by Sunday night. He also has offers from Kentucky and Pitt, but is very intrigued by staying in-state with the Boilermakers.

Note: I also wouldn't rule out JUCO wide receiver Leland Smith, who is expected to trim his list of schools in the near future. Purdue appears to be a player for the Fullerton C.C. product and will factor into his recruitment down the stretch.

Official visitors set for the weekend:

A pair of transfers will join Hamilton in taking official visits with the Boilermakers this weekend, both in the trenches.
Former Kentucky defensive lineman Jamarius Dinkins set a trip to West Lafayette shortly after being offered this week. Dinkins spent three seasons with the Wildcats before entering the transfer portal this off-season and is a top target for Purdue defensive line coach Brick Haley as he searches for replacements for departing starters Malik Langham and Isaiah Nichols.

Ball State offensive lineman Corey Stewart is also set for his official visit with the Boilermakers this weekend, being arguably the top portal lineman on the board for Purdue. Stewart was a first team All-MAC selection in 2023, holding a Pro Football Focus grade of 67.9, which includes an 82.1 grade in pass protection. Stewart has primarily played left tackle and could be a potential starter for the Boilermakers if he were to come to West Lafayette.

Nothing is imminent with either portal target, but Purdue will have the opportunity to make a lasting impression over the weekend.

Help coming in the form of JUCO offensive linemen?

Boiler Upload currently has a pair of FutureCasts out for two JUCO offensive tackles as Purdue continues their pursuit of adding to the trenches. The first of which is Rod Green, who took an official visit to Purdue a couple of weeks ago and is closing in on a decision. I fully expect that announcement to be that he is headed for West Lafayette after a year at Coffeyville CC.

Jaekwon Bouldin is also a guy that Purdue sits in the driver seat of his recruitment, but he is not as close to a decision. Bouldin was debating whether or not to take his other scheduled official visits to Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Regardless of if those trips take place, Purdue is in prime position for the 6'7", 350-pound offensive tackle at this time.

I am still confident in both FutureCast predictions, but Green is the more likely of the two to make things official first. Purdue would likely take both to join the 2024 recruiting class.

Purdue fighting to keep four-star athlete Koy Beasley:

Ryan Walters and company have not only been recruiting prospects to add to the incoming haul, but have also been forced to recruit players already committed to Purdue. Four-star athlete Koy Beasley is at the top of that list.

Beasley is set to take an official visit to Syracuse this weekend despite still having a pledge to the Boilermakers. New Orange head coach Fran Brown had recruited Beasley at Georgia while he was there and the two have a strong relationship, which could result in Purdue losing its top-rated recruit in the class.
I wouldn't say a flip to Syracuse is something that is expected, but Beasley looking elsewhere will have the Boilermakers sweating over the next two weeks leading up to early National Signing Day.
