Jacobsen looks smooth

My reasoning, TKR and Furst will be the PF’s.
If Jacobsen RS, I don’t trust the C position to Berg.
Neither guys shooting warrants calling/playing them as 4's. They are centers in most aspects of the game and would be now if not for Zach.
TKR as the 2nd best post option (currently, will be #1 next year) offensively and Furst defensively.
Hopefully Berg is able to back up adequately, or you might have to split Caleb and Trey up. If the frosh can play or beats out Berg, fabulous!

Yep I think it will be a rebuilding year while everyone determines their roles in prep for the following season. The minimum expectations for me next year is a winning record and make the NCAA tournament in some capacity. Anything more than that for me will be icing on the cake.
tempered expectations is fine but you are seriously underestimating next years team.
I dont' think you can overestimate the value of Braden and Fletcher as upperclassmen with the PT experience they already have.
I could go on player by player but suffice it to say we have a few guys that might explode next year without the focus on Zach 80% of the time.
Many of these guys have been playing on a top 5 team for 2 years now. Aside from the unreal advantage that Zach gives you, these guys have learned how to win close games this year.
That experience isn't going away or becoming insignificant any time soon.

So what do you expect out of the team next year beyond what I stated?

Yeh, he's like Chet Holgren, way too skinny. He'll never make it in the Big 10, much less the nba.
I was going to point out the same thing. Where to people get his idea that certain guys are to skinny and others not and we may be talking 10 lbs difference. It's basketball not body building.

I’m sure next year Painter will start Myles and Harris and cox and he’ll go with a 5 guard offense

Top 20 most/all of the year. In the hunt for Big 10 title, but we'll lose a few more games for sure.
IF things go well they could be top 10 by the end of the season.
This is more of a re-load than re-build. Lots of guns. ;)
Yeah I mean it would be great for that to happen but I think they will be more like MSU is this year. Capable of being amazing some nights but incredibly inconsistent. Similar record.

Good post, I think one of Furst or TKR is the 5, you’re also forgetting Burgess, he’s 7 foot I believe.
Yep. Next year, Purdue will have:

6'10 Sr Caleb Furst
6'9 RS Jr Trey Kaufmann-Renn
7'2 RS So Will Berg
6'11 Fr Raleigh Burgess
7'3 Fr Daniel Jacobsen

I'm not remotely concerned about Purdue's ability to have solid post play. BTW, I think if TKR and Furst don't start together, Heide ends up the starting 4, which I would love. At 6'7, solidly built and a great leaper, there are very few guys I think would give him fits at the 4.

I'd call Heide athletically slim more than solidly built.
I think we'll suffer some physically next year.
None of these guys are anywhere near as solid as Zach and Mason.
I've been impressed by all the big bodies in the Big 10 this year. And if they haven't been enough to stop Zach they have been significant.
We'll miss both those guys a few times next season after we've gotten beaten up.

as for next year, maybe I'm biased here due to watching Creighton alot but I can see us having a similar trajectory. Last year they had a great season like us this year, so next year for Purdue I can see like a 22 - 8, 23 - 9 type season and playing stronger by season end.

This may be a homer take, but I don't see us falling off much at all. Obviously losing 2 time NPOY and our best glue guy will hurt early in the season, but TKR and Heide are pretty darn solid players. We also have 4 guys behind them that all have a ton of potential to hit the ground running. Berg has looked a lot like Edey style player in the games we have seen him, though not as dominant. Furst could take a leap forward with more playing time. And the 2 freshmen could surprise us, who knows with them.

For the backcourt all we lose is Jones and Morton. Morton won't be much of a loss, and we arguably could upgrade at Jones' spot if Colvin takes the sophomore leap or Catchings hits the ground running. Our style will change because we will have an amazing backcourt that should have more of the focus. If Berg/Jacobsen can hit some open 3's like they have done on videos, I could see Heide, Catchings, and Smith feast driving the ball.

It will take some time as we will play more like we did on the Ivey/Williams team and that will take some time to adjust to. Maybe pick up a few more early losses than this year. But the B1G isn't looking super stellar (except that Rutgers class, WTF?) so I can see us fighting for a 3rd B1G championship and a top 3 seed in the tourney.

Yup. Exactly. Not sure how Rutgers will be with the top class…if they can get those guys to buy in on defense, they’ll be pretty darn good.

But Purdue will be more athletic than we have been at all positions and will play around Braden’s strengths. Gonna be fun to watch. I agree we prob drop some at the beginning of the year but will start to figure it out and look good toward the end.

How is Purdue rebuilding with the 2nd ranked class coming in Kanon is a great player harris as well and Purdue had 3 guys who didn't play much this year going to play next year no rebuild
This.

Purdue is re-LOADING, not re-building!

I still believe that Furst will not be here next year, just a guess
