Maybe we could be included in this group, and all the fanbases could negotiate some form of group trade. Everyone gets to fire their coach and get a new one to give a try.
Sorry painter lost the Illinois game and there's no excuse for blowing a 17 point halftime lead. The criticism is valid differ however you like

That's how they all are. You don't love Painter? What! You're an idiot, a hater, you don't know basketball, you are a troll, on and on. I love Purdue basketball. I think their coach is very mediocre. You don't have to be in love with Painter to root on Purdue basketball! We just want what's best for the team, and a fair number of us realize it's not CMP.
I'm not sure how anybody could say that when teams are smothering our inside game. That swanigan shouldn't be removed during that stretch. He is clogging up the lane and when they collapse on him he commits a turnover. It's fairly obvious when this happens we must go small with Vince at the 4.
Look I get it swanigan is a burger boy and painter is letting him get his minutes regardless of what it's doing to the team.

The player have responsibilities in losing as well. It is them that have to perform on the court, not the coach.
It's more like an opinionated few. Like I've said, if any one of us had a clue about any of this we would be con ching division 1 somewhere.
I'mean just glad none of us are the AD as the sports programs would be in such a disatorous state, it would make Burke look like a genuis.
You may believe the criticism is "valid" but the fact that Iowa absolutely steamrolled MSU for 40 minutes IN EAST LANSING blows your "there's no excuse" assertion to smithereens...
There still is no excuse for losing that game at HOME to a very good Iowa team while up 17 at half. Spin it how you want man. And bbg while player execution has completely stank in our losses. There was no excuse for Hammons once cutting it to 6 points being taken out and riding the pine for the NEXT 8 minutes. He wasn't in foul problems it made completely no sense.
But make excuses all you guys want if it makes you feel better
It's not excuses it's tangible evidence. Not one of us is on the side with the players or in the practices, etc. You are basing all of this on an overly emotional opinion you got from watching it on tv.
No one is discounting the losses.. the team isnt.. hell CMP has taken ownership to an extent based on comments he has made. But there is no reason to jump off the ledge when we only have a few losses.
Will CMP get us to a Final Four? I have no idea nor does anyone else on here. That is the only true "fact" on all of this.
Well I'm certainly happy with the teams record this year. It could be better though. I've yet to hear anybody offer a reasonable explanation for Hammons sitting 8 minutes when he was pushing the momentum. It was a complete head scratcher

No one is offering anything on AJH because no one knows that isn't on the team. I said right when he came out that he was holding his knee. I have no idea of he hurt it or not.. was just an observation at the time.
And here is the funny thing about this forum and Swanigan... if he was benched to begin with, some on here would be in a tizzy over it just like those saying he should be benched (not you.. it's a general observation). It's just how fickle things are on here... we saw it last season as well and I think it is just how our fanbase is.
Anyway, Swanigan played much better in the second half, so whatever was told to him at halftime ...worked.
It's how ALL fanbases are today. The internet has created a place for all the opinionated "fans" to rant without any real basis for their rants. Before old Al Gore created this mess these same fans were only heard in their own dens or in bars with a TV in the corner. Another great benefit of Al's genius development. Was listening to a call in show on local ESPN a week ago and they were talking about the SIUC fan base. For the past 3-4 years the Salukis have been an absolute mess based on the leadership of Chris Lowery before he was ran off. This year they are off to a 14-3 start but the last game they had played they got absolutely woodshedded by Wichita State. Did the fans want to talk about the turnaround and apparently bright days ahead? Nope, only wanted to rant on the coach about the loss to WSU. We all think this board is better than Peegs but the same kind of nonsense goes on over here every day. If people would be truly happy with what they have and not nitpick about what they don't have we'd be better off. If you want to have absolute accountability for all actions the coach of a basketball program is not the place to start. Start with the idiots in government. When you get accountability from them then you can demand that MP put you on speed dial so he can answer your every question about substitution patterns and losses and wins by only 15 when it should have been 16.

Another TRIPLE like. Well said and very well thought out. I blame FOX networks. Before they tried to become the 4th network (back in the day of three networks and the State Farm Tuba quartet) the news was the news. They decided if they brought more DRAMA to the news, people would come to them because people love DRAMA. Guess what, it worked, they were right. So now, rather than news, we have drama on every channel. People love it. Just like here.

sure there is -- Purdue lost to a better team that night.... A team that turned around and dominated an arguably better team than us even more thoroughly on that team's home floor. If Iowa is good enough to achieve that feat at Breslin, they are certainly good enough to do it at Mackey-- that is, unless you believe that Izzo sucks even worse as a coach than Painter.
