IU

No excuse for IU to lose that game, but I have to say that Nebraska looked better than a .500 team. Has anyone seem any of their previous games? Did they play better than usual?

Aren't the iu football and basketball forums broken up between scout and rivals now?

You can bet your ass creans seat is warm
Not true...just won the regular season conference championship a year ago and one of the favorites to do so again this year...Crean's inconsistency with respect to how his teams generally perform is actually consistent. They are capable of beating literally anyone on a given night, but almost as capable of losing to just about anyone on a given night as well...their flaws are the same flaws that they have always had during his time there, but, they also have more depth and quality depth this year than probably at any time during his time there.

They are capable of beating almost anyone on a given night, if they play in Bloomington. They've got two bad losses now - IPFW and Nebraska.

Beat Kansas on a neutral court.

Two bad losses...two huge wins.

I would agree with your point that they play/are much better at home in general, but they have only played one true road game thus far (the loss at IPFW).

The B1G as a whole is down, so they will be in the mix likely just for that reason...nobody saw the home loss to Nebraska coming, so hard to know if it was a blip or indicative of something more...only time will tell.

I have never been a Crean fan, but I thought he did a great job last year...and, despite his apparent shortcomings on the sidelines, the guy has always been able to recruit, and recruit at a high level (which has played a big part in overcoming said shortcomings).

They have all of the pieces to be capable of beating anyone on a given night, and they have already shown that with the wins over Kansas and UNC...but, they lost to two teams that were better prepared seemingly in IPFW and Butler, and then lost to a team that simply played harder and better tonight...IU's biggest weakness seemingly is their inability to get up for games that are not deemed big games in their mind.

It's coaching. Crean never played the game at a level that mattered. He was Izzo's manager? He is a good recruiter, but he's a bad Xs and Os guy and has no feel for substitutions. He's IU's biggest problem. He has enough good players to be a real force, but his coaching will always end up costing his teams.

Last night is worse. It was in Ass Hall. They lack a floor leader. There will be more of those nights before this season is over.

absolutely...since they do not value cerebral play day in and day out...IU is capable of beating and getting beat by about anyone...AS they have shown already. What amazes me is that that NCAA has no court requirements and space around the court. Is there another college gym...big time that is...that does not have enough room to take the ball out of bounds without stepping on someone along the side lines?

If that makes you feel better then okay . He's on the hot seat and could be fired after this season. Look he wasn't extended last year and his fan base isn't happy with a big ten title. He's been there 10 years they see the flaws. You can pretty much bet the house that he's done there within the next two years.

He can't even recruit in state talent anymore
