It's Sunday afternoon

Personally, I would be quietly looking for the following type of individual and securing him before dismissing Hazell:

We need someone who can come in and sell recruits (3 & 4 star with big upsides) that at Purdue you will:
1) play an offense/defense that will prepare you for the NFL - no options, no hurry-up, etc. QB's get under center, learn to read defenses, go thru progressions, call audibles, 5 - 7 step dropback passes, etc. Sell our current NFL players as proof. All position coaches and coordinators with NFL exposure as players/coaches/coordinators
2) let the 3 -4 star athletes know they will realistically compete to play at Purdue - going to a "big time" school and competing against 5 star athletes isn't realistic. The coach that recruited the 5 star kid is seriously embarrassed if the 5 star kid gets beat out by a 3 star.
3) if the recruit is a serious student, selling Purdue should be icing on the cake. Have Brees and Gene Cernan call the kid - that'll do it.

If the kid is interested in how many "flashy fashion statement" uniforms we have - drop him. Go back to traditional uniforms with an NFL look. Every theme in the offices, locker room, equipment room, training room should scream PROFESSIONAL - not "Inmates Running the Asylum"!
