It's a great day to be alive....

True story. About 20 years ago (before kids) my wife and I rented Dr. Zhivago on a recommendation. This was back in the VHS days and the movie was two tapes long. I made a mistake and put in part two first. We watched the first tape and then switched over to side one. With about 45 min left in the film I looked at my wife and said "I just don't get it" She felt the same. Never did end up seeing it.
I'm guessing the person that recommened the movie may have known about your tastes...if true, then watch it now. This youtube I'm guessing was towards teh end of the first tape?

Purdue a 4 seed in a bracket they can come through, and IU saying Crean will not be going anywhere.

Maybe the muskrat really did see her shadow.

Said all along that these two things would happen.

Next....a Final Four! :D:cool::rolleyes:
Well as usual you are wrong about Crean. IU will now get a great coach and get most of what they want as far as recruits out of Indiana.
Purdue going far, well I would go with the past on that and you will still have Painter! lol

What a friggin clown you are.

Well, I am glad to see him go. He was an embarrassment to IU and to the BIG10. Good luck finding a better coach to replace him - intended sincerely. If IU and Purdue are strong programs, it benefits both schools.

Care to consider the success statistics of these sorts of hires? If I were you, I would remain silent on your rivals board until you know who they are going to hire. Coming over here bragging about firing your current coach, and how "great" it is going to be with a new coach is premature. I think we saw a lot of UI posters over here talking about how great Grocer was going to be. Best not to prove you are a fool. It is too easy to do just that (Ask me how I know).

You and SBGuy and Courtdense and the rest said the same thing when I was telling you all Davis was worthless as a coach, Sampson would get you on probation, and that Crean would never be the answer. Glad you both thought enough to come over and crow when you've both been so wrong.

Now you'll just have to settle again.

This is the 3rd "great coach" in a row after RMK. Nice job. lol.

Settling what we have been doing. Just winning the Big doesn't get it down south.

Um, I'm pretty sure you and the rest of the fan base would be ecstatic if you had won the B1G and were preparing for the NCAA today. There would be no talk of firing. There would be a lot of crowing, just like this time last year.

Your prognostications are not good, even when you are being civil (and you have been generally civil to me). Too much evidence and inside info flowing to some; I tried to let you know he was gone, gone, gone.

Too many good posters on this board, but your credibility is so very tarnished. If you want to regain any credibility, in my opinion you should man up, fess up that you were again a victim of spite and wishful thinking, and absolutely declare that you were a Bobby Knight fan, but that your allegiance to IU is thin at best, and ceased being any factor once IU fired Knight.

You may call this "coming over to crow", but it's not. Purdue is having a great year, plays hard, and runs a clean program with players that graduate, or get dumped by a good coach if they aren't squared away. Purdue's success is good for the B1G, good for the rivalry, and good for the State of Indiana.

I was fully planning on coming over with a picture of the frosty cold beer that I owed you if all sources were wrong. Soooo...this is NOT coming over to crow. Let's call it this: "Coming over to tell you the truth."

JM, I am very surprised that Crean was fired. I did not think that it would happen this year as it is indicative to me of serious issues inside the Athletic Dept that I never thought Glass would seek to highlight. Obviously, I was wrong.

That does not mean that I was incorrect about a chaotic Athletic Dept. Certainly the turnover of the revenue sports is not a good sign. And I am convinced that good coaches are going to note that. Which makes the job of replacing Crean a good bit harder.

Imo, many of the talked about candidates already have good jobs. The risk of leaving for IU and the expectations of the fanbase there make it very high. IU did not get their most favored candidates last time and I have my doubts that it will be different this time. We will see.

As usual arc, more than fair on your part. You identify the negatives, but for the reasons I cited previously ($, history, conference, not following a legend, good player academics and talent, facilities, etc) IU should be the single best open job this year. VERY different than the atmosphere for the 2008 hire.

High level coaches and their representatives will look into AD Glass and the Crean/Wilson firings. Not sure if you realize it, but Wilson was a train wreck on an personal level and was also a lawsuit waiting to happen. Good offensive football coach, but not a head coach. High-end candidates will understand that.

That's NOT to say that Brad Stevens is walking through that door (he's not). Maybe we finish with Alford (I will be a bit disappointed) or Fife (I will be nervous as hell). But a Chris Mack or Kevin Keatts type? I doubt that very, very much. We have a MUCH better chance of ending up with Billy Donovan than Chris Mack.
